Watching Ian Veneracion never fails to bring back memories of That’s Entertainment and 90s Pinoy action flicks with beautiful leading ladies. It doesn’t matter if he’s taking on father roles most of the time now because the guy still has that matinee idol appeal. Not even the role of a false preacher and philandering husband in a Maalala Mo Kaya episode earlier this evening can make a dent on his youthful and innocent charm. He’s one of those few actors who can easily jump from a goody-goody to a bad boy image.
It’s great that we’ll be seeing more of him on TV these days via the remake of Maria la del Barrio on ABS-CBN. The show’s lead Luis (Enchong Dee) will have to share the attention with his dad Fernando.
