Prior to Miss Philippines Janine Tugonon‘s win earlier today as Miss Universe 2012 First Runner-Up, our closest fight for the crown was Miriam Quiambao’s popular stint in the pageant in 1999. Thirteen years ago, Miriam also emerged as first runner-up despite tripping onstage. She literally showed the world how to rise with grace when you fall down.
Both known for having beauty and brains, morena beauties Janine and Miriam strikingly resemble each other. Interestingly, both are alumnae of the University of Santo Tomas.
