Anne Curtis is the newly appointed UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for Children. The It’s Showtime host spent two days in Leyte and paid a visit to the ongoing recovery operations after Typhoon Yolanda hit the city more than a year ago.
Given this new role, Anne is expected to promote Early Childhood Care & Development and help mobilize support for children and families living in poverty and those affected by violence, abuse, and emergency situations. According to the UNICEF website, Anne has been a donor and supporter of the organization for years now. The org believes her huge following and influence will play a signifcant role in gaining attention to issues concerning the less fortunate.
