Summer isn’t over and I have yet to get rid of the bloat and heavy feeling from all the bad eating I subjected myself to since the start of the year. Now, to counter all the wrong food choices I’ve had the past few months, I was recently introduced to a couple of cleansing companions and healthier options. Here are  my top picks from my GStuff loot.

PREMIUM VIRGIN COCONUT OIL

Swallow spoonfuls of oil? I must admit taking in pure virgin coconut oil with a spoon felt weird at first (for someone so used to unconsciously taking in the bad kind through fries, cakes and liempo!) but it was pretty cool knowing the spoonfuls could give an extra boost of energy (and aid in digestion). Trying to make it a daily habit now. Next on my list: Use VCO for baking and frying and as a natural conditioner for my hair. 🙂

GINGER & TURMERIC TEA

I gained more than 10 lbs since January and recently found out my triglyceride and cholesterol levels are up. It was a blessing to come across a product that targets both weight loss and lowering cholesterol – the ginger and turmeric tea. I’m banking on this drink’s anti-inflammatory properties to lessen the swelling (go away, chubby cheeks!) and turmeric content to lower my cholesterol level.

VCO OIL PULLING

This is definitely my second favorite find from the set. I did my research and found out that oil pulling is not only for the disposal of our body’s toxins but it’s also a natural teeth whitener. Now, that’s a cool dental hack! 😉 Just like swallowing oil for energy boost, swishing oil in the mouth for a few minutes can be weird at first but it’s a pretty awesome experience once you spit out the item (icky but exciting part!). See for yourself. Definitely a MUST-TRY.

GStuff Oil Pulling uses raw coconut oil because it has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and enzymatic properties. This provides the added benefit of killing any unwanted bacteria that may be residing in the mouth, while leaving behind healthy probiotic strains. As soon as you wake up and gargled, take only one to two tablespoons of oil pulling. Do not gargle; instead only swish in your mouth, for strictly 15 to 20 minutes, then spit the oil. You will notice that the colour is already slightly darkened. This marks that the toxins inside your body have been pulled out.

GOING LOCO OVER COCO DOLCE

Saving the best for last. Of course, choosing to be healthy doesn’t mean depriving one’s self with indulgence. GStuff’s Coco Dolce is my most favorite part of the pack. For my first try, I had a single-column bar and told myself I’ll just have a small block or two. Being the chocoholic that I am, I found myself finishing the whole treat in  just a few minutes. It was so good (not too sweet for a milk chocolate bar!). Do yourself a favor and try it. 🙂
