One Sunday afternoon, LBC Singapore teamed up with RandomRepublika.com to randomly surprise one of our kababayans in Singapore with a special gift: a free 7-kg air cargo box shipment to the Philippines.
Among the dozens of people we met at the LBC shop (located at Lucky Plaza, Unit #03-46), it was Ate Marisol (Sol) Macas’ cheerful personality and heartwarming story that moved us the most. Ate Sol is from Bohol and is currently employed as a full-time domestic helper for almost 10 years now. She has been a loyal LBC customer for many years and was about to send a parcel that day, which contained toddler clothes for her nephews/nieces and small fashion accessories such as bracelets and charms for her family.
To get to know Ate Sol more, we tagged along with her as she showed us how she usually spends her typical Sunday afternoons: buying pasalubong treats for her family, riding public transportation around town, and meeting her closest friends for get-together parties during their days-off.
Three days later, we got a call from Ate Sol informing us that her family already received her padala (shipment). “Ang bilis nga ng delivery, nagulat ako... ine-expect ko five days later pa (I was suprised by the fast delivery as I was expecting it to arrive five days later), she exclaimed.
We decided to catch up with Ate Sol the following Sunday to invite her to one of the Filipino Community events (Miss Petite 2017 beauty pageant contest)“Salamat LBC, nakarating na ang padala ko,” she told us.
