Singer-actor Ronnie Liang understands the value of running not just for personal growth as an active person but for people who need support. In celebration of Resorts World Manila’s 10th anniversary, Ronnie joined other celebrities in “Run With Me” held yesterday, August 25, at the SM MOA Concert Grounds. The event started at 4 o’clock in the morning.

“Kahit galing akong abroad, I didn’t mind. Kahit pagod pa, okay lang. What’s good about it, is that it allowed me to help by just running. It was super fun and fulfilling,” Ronnie said.

Being one of the celebrity leaders for Orange Team during the event with a cause, his team got 3rd place with Php900,000 cash prize to be given to their chosen charity “EPCALM Adult Leukemia Foundation of the Philippines,” the first non-profit organization in the Philippines to provide faith-based, holistic care, and support for both leukemia sufferers and their families, as well as helping raise leukemia awareness and research support.

“I hope we could all run for a cause. Simpleng bagay pero malaking tulong para sa ibang tao. I love helping other people, that becomes part of my life. The sense of having blessings is to share. Hangga’t kaya nating tumulong, tumulong tayo. I’m grateful din that Resorts World Manila got me and asked me to participate,” the soon-to-be-pilot told Random Republika.

Having finished 10km, Ronnie said that events for a cause like RWM’s mean a lot to a community like ours where many are in need. The singer explained that their chosen charity finds healthcare options best suited to patients’ needs. It also helps link patients and their families to find adequate financial support during health battles.

“I highly recommend running for a cause as it provides each runner an extra reward, an extra reason, an extra purpose for running. It increases the value you experience when you run and it helps motivate you on those difficult days,” the Viva artist shared.

After running for a cause, the “Ligaya” singer went to “Army Show” (A Tribute To Our Heroes) and got to perform his hits Ligaya, Ngiti, and Yakap.

Cheered on by his fans and the audience, Ronnie enjoyed performing before a crowd full of modern-day heroes. Other celebrities like Matteo Guidicelli, Julian Trono, Katrina Velarde, and Rovilson Fernandezwere also part of the event.
