This Christmas, Regal Entertainment brings you a tale of love that transcends time in “My Future You.” Starring Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, this film invites you on an emotional journey as two young souls navigate the complexities of family, fate, and the enduring power of love.
A Connection Across Time
Imagine stumbling upon a dating app that connects you not just to someone special, but to someone in a completely different time. This is the extraordinary premise of “My Future You,” where Lex (Fedelin), a young man in 2009, finds himself inexplicably linked to Karen (Diaz), a woman living in 2024. Their connection, forged through the digital ether, quickly blossoms into a deep and meaningful bond.
But their extraordinary connection comes with a twist. Haunted by a painful past, Karen sees an opportunity to rewrite history and prevent her parents’ separation. She enlists Lex’s help in altering key events in her past, hoping to change the course of her life. However, their attempts to manipulate time have unintended consequences, creating ripples that alter their present in ways they never imagined.
The Director’s Vision
The mastermind behind “My Future You” is Crisanto B. Aquino, whose previous work earned him a Best Screenplay Award at the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival. The inspiration for this film, he reveals, came from a simple conversation with a friend about the fascinating possibility of connecting with someone across time through a casual chat.
“I hope audiences will come away with a renewed appreciation for the people in their lives,” Aquino shares, reflecting on the film’s message. “Sometimes, we desperately seek love without realizing it’s already present in our lives.”
A Star-Studded Affair
Aquino is particularly enthusiastic about the casting of Diaz and Fedelin, popularly known as FranSeth. He believes their undeniable chemistry and dedication to their craft were pivotal in bringing this unique story to life.
“From the very first reading, I knew I had found my Karen and Lex,” Aquino says of the young actors. “Their passion and genuine connection truly made the story come alive. This is their moment to shine, and they certainly delivered.”
“My Future You” marks the first feature film for this talented duo, who rose to fame in the popular ABS-CBN television series “Kadenang Ginto.”
A Christmas Gift to the Nation
Executive producer Roselle Y. Monteverde sees “My Future You” as a celebration of love, family, and the enduring hope for a brighter future.
“For many years, we’ve been honored to be a part of your Christmas traditions, bringing you stories that make you laugh, cry, and believe in the power of love,” she says. “We offer this film as a heartfelt gift to all Filipinos this Christmas.”
Produced by the late Lily Y. Monteverde, Roselle Y. Monteverde, and Keith Monteverde, “My Future You” hits theaters nationwide on December 25.
