“Noong buhay pa yung nanay ko, dito. Noong nawala na yung nanay ko, doon ako. Gusto ko doon,” Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai Delas Alas candidly answered that she prefers to stay in the United States days. The GMA artist has already adjusted to her life in America.

Is she staying there for good? Ai-Ai said, “Oo, kasi may green card ako, gusto ko nang maging citizen, kaya iniipon ko na yung mga number of days ko doon.” It was in 2015 when Ai-Ai became eligible for citizenship application. She chose to shuttle back and forth because of work and her children. This 2022, she started working on her application.

Ai-Ai entertained questions from the press in an intimate gathering last December 14. She is currently in the Philippines to attend to her work commitments and promote her upcoming musical comedy show with former husband Miguel Vera. The concert titled “Dating Kami” is set to happen on January 21, 2023 in the US.

Miguel came up with the idea of the collaboration after watching Ai Ai’s GMA Pinoy TV show with other GMA stars last September in Los Angeles, California.

“First time uli kami magsasama sa buong buhay namin sa isang show. Naging guests kami noon sa isang show pero nagkasabay lang kami. First time ito na back-to-back kami ever,” says Ai AI during a media conference in Quezon City recently.

The show will be staged at 16600 Civic Center Drive, Bellflower, California 90706. Two shows are available for viewing – one at 3:00 and another at 8:00PM. Ai Ai and Miguel will be joined by special guests Joseph Gelito, Boy Rose, and Francis Velasco. The show will be under the direction of Jack Ross.

Ai Ai and Miguel’s love story has been an open book to the public. After a series of rifts and conflicts, the two have successfully been co-parenting and remained good friends.

Kinanta niya yung Nais Ko.”

During the early part of the interview, Ai Ai was asked if she still gets recognized in the US. The funny artist was quick to reply, “Of course! Sikat ako doon, ‘no!” Laughter ensued.
