“Real love doesn’t meet you at your best. It meets you in your mess.” — J.S. Park Wade & Jose Manuel

Showbiz newcomers Kiko Ipapo and Jovani Manansala will play Wade and Jose Manuel in the upcoming Gagaoolala original series Happenstance. The two will magically meet from different periods – one in 1974 and the other one in 2020. How are two souls longing to connect with each other going to power through a 46-year gap in time?

It was revealed that director Adolfo Alix Jr. found the inspiration for Happenstance from a local news story about a house owner finding love letters from the ’70s during a house renovation. The owner tried to track down the letter sender from five decades ago.

The characters

Jose Manuel is grounded after his military father learned of his relationship with Luis, an activist. Meanwhile, Wade is recovering from a recent break up with Eric. He got stuck in quarantine because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the super moon, an opportunity opens for these two heartbroken souls to connect across time and find love once again.
