It wasn’t too long ago when Jane Oineza and Zaijian Jaranilla made us laugh as young stars of the children’s gag show Goin’ Bulilit. Today, the two have taken a bold leap into more mature storytelling, showing just how far they’ve come—and they’re doing it in Puregold Channel’s most ambitious project yet.

New Milestone for Puregold Channel
Puregold Channel continues to redefine digital entertainment. Following the online success of My Plantito and Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile, the brand now ventures into cinematic territory with its newest series Si Sol at Si Luna. Unveiled at a star-studded press conference on May 16 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, the project signals a bold evolution in Puregold’s digital storytelling.

In Si Sol at Si Luna, Jaranilla and Oineza shed their former child star personas to take on emotionally charged and complex roles. It’s a major milestone for Jaranilla, who embraces his most mature role yet—including his first intimate scene, marking a fearless moment in his career.

Beyond Romance
But the series isn’t just about romantic tension. At its heart, it delves into themes of grief, timing, and the nuanced layers of human connection. As Sol, a film student yearning for creative inspiration, meets Luna, an older woman burdened by past wounds, their bond forces a reckoning with realities that don’t fit the fairytale mold—grappling with age gaps, personal loss, and the fragility of timing.
Romance, Redefined
For Puregold’s Senior Marketing Manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, the series’ emotional depth is what makes it stand out from typical love stories.

“At its core, the series is about love—but not the kind that comes easy,” she explains. “It asks: Where do we find love? What do we do with it when it comes at the most unexpected time? Luna’s story is about loving through grief. Sol’s is about loving through transformation. Whether love can survive both—that’s the question the audience will ponder on.”
Retailtainment Meets Real Emotion
With Si Sol at Si Luna, Puregold Channel is asserting itself as more than a retail brand dabbling in content—it’s becoming a creative studio that blends commercial sensibility with bold, thoughtful storytelling. This is where quality writing meets raw emotion, and where long-form storytelling thrives on accessible digital platforms, allowing every Filipino to see reflections of their own lives onscreen.

At the launch, excitement was palpable among the cast. Leading the charge were Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza, alongside a dynamic supporting ensemble that includes Joao Constancia, Uzziel Delamide, Vaughn Piczon, Lyle Viray, Jem Manicad, Marnie Lapus, and breakout star Atasha Franco.

Premiere and Schedule
Si Sol at Si Luna premieres on the Puregold Channel on YouTube this May 31, with fresh episodes dropping every Saturday. Expect heart, honesty, and a new standard for digital Filipino drama.
