Celebrating 75 Years: Korea Travel Fiesta 2024 introduces more of South Korea to Filipinos
The Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) recently marked 75 years of diplomatic relations with the Philippines by hosting a two-day extravaganza, the Korea Travel Fiesta 2024, at the Glorietta Palm Drive Activity Center in Makati City. The event invited Filipinos to experience a diverse display of Korean tourism and culture.
Various interactive zones offered a taste of Korea. Visitors explored travel information at the K-Travel Zone, sampled cuisine and tried on traditional Hanbok at the K-Activity Zone, and enjoyed K-pop and K-beauty activities. The Kids Zone offered fun, creative activities for young attendees.
Exhibitors included airlines, travel agencies, and tourism organizations, showcasing offerings for travelers planning their next Korean adventure.
The event began with a lively performance by KTO’s Kingdom Friends characters, setting a festive tone. “Running Man PH” stars Glaiza De Castro, Kokoy De Santos, and Buboy Villar shared their Korean experiences, followed by a performance from the Korean musical CHEF, blending beatboxing and breakdancing.
Actress Melai Cantiveros-Francisco discussed family tourism, leading into performances by Korean artists PUNCH, hip-hop dance team WOLF’LO, and K-pop singer Xiumin from EXO, who offered travel tips.
Interactive activities included personal color, makeup, and hair demonstrations, along with challenges like the Spicy Ramen Challenge and K-pop Random Play Dance.
As Filipinos plan holiday travels, the Korea Travel Fiesta aimed to promote Korea’s winter attractions, offering a deeper understanding of Korean culture and society.
Mr. YoungChoong Seo, Acting President of KTO, expressed appreciation for Filipinos’ love of Korean culture, inviting families and groups to visit Korea during the winter season to enjoy its scenic beauty, activities, and festivals.
