Philippine Coding Camp (PCC), in partnership with the FEU Institute of Technology (FEU Tech) and the FEU Tech Innovation Center, has launched a strategic collaboration designed to expand opportunities for aspiring Filipino innovators, strengthen institutional technology capabilities, and encourage innovation that supports national development.
The partnership was formally introduced during InnoVision 2026: Special Forum on Military IT Convergence, held on June 17 at the FEU Tech Innovation Center in Manila.
An initiative of Philippine Coding Camp, InnoVision serves as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and capability-building around emerging technologies. It brings together leaders from academia, industry, government, defense, and the technology sector to promote digital transformation, responsible technology adoption, innovation, and future-ready skills development across the Philippines. This year’s special forum, organized by PCC in collaboration with FEU Tech and the FEU Tech Innovation Center, gathered military personnel, academic leaders, researchers, technology professionals, and institutional partners to discuss how emerging technologies can strengthen defense education, institutional readiness, public-sector innovation, and the country’s long-term technological competitiveness.
Under the partnership, PCC will contribute its expertise in technology education, workforce development, and cross-sector collaboration, while FEU Tech and the FEU Tech Innovation Center will provide the academic foundation and collaborative environment needed to transform ideas into practical solutions. Together, the institutions aim to create programs that expand access to emerging technologies, expert mentorship, applied research, and innovation opportunities for students, educators, researchers, professionals, and government personnel.
Philippine Coding Camp will spearhead technology-focused learning initiatives, industry and government partnerships, innovation programs, and capacity-building activities. Meanwhile, FEU Tech and its Innovation Center will serve as venues where learners, researchers, and innovators can collaborate, test concepts, conduct applied research, and address real-world challenges.
Building Future-Ready Filipino Innovators
“Actually right now it’s not a question of ‘Are we are ready?’ It’s ‘When should we be ready?’ We should be ready NOW. The AI that we had years ago is very different from what we have today. It’s very fast-paced,” said Dr. Gabriel Avelino R. Sampedro, founder and CEO of Philippine Coding Camp during the media conference.

He also added, “Right now, it’s very much advanced. There’s so much development. We need to keep up. We need to upskill and learn to maximize the developments.”
Rossana T. Adao, Executive Director, FEU Tech said, “For FEU Tech, we invest in infrastructure to really defend our environment here. With the advent of AI, right now, we also have to prepare our students. Right now in the industries, enterprises, they are now looking for AI-skilled graduates,
She also added, “We are integrating AI not only as a course or a subject, but in our process, in our pedagogy. That’s how we plan to do it, para holistic, we will institutionalize it.”
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of Filipino innovators by providing greater exposure to fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, the Internet of Things, autonomous systems, and other emerging technologies.
Rather than limiting learning to traditional classroom settings, the planned initiatives will prioritize practical experience, interdisciplinary collaboration, research engagement, and technology applications that respond to actual institutional and societal needs.
The FEU Tech Innovation Center will play a central role in these efforts by providing a collaborative space where students, researchers, technology experts, government representatives, and industry partners can exchange ideas and develop innovative solutions.

Through specialized learning programs, PCC has supported uniformed personnel in strengthening competencies in software quality assurance, digital tools, data-driven decision-making, emerging technologies, and technology-enabled operational processes. These initiatives complement ongoing modernization efforts by helping personnel understand, evaluate, and responsibly adopt new technologies.
Beyond technical training, PCC is helping cultivate a stronger culture of research and innovation within the defense community. The forum featured internationally recognized experts, including Dr. Artem Lensky of UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy, who teaches surveillance technologies and communication and information systems to military officers, and Dr. Steve Chan, a science and technology adviser, inventor, and researcher whose work spans government agencies, industry, ASEAN member states, the United Nations, and international technology organizations.
Their presentations provided participants with valuable perspectives on artificial intelligence, surveillance technologies, open-source intelligence, information systems, and the growing importance of cross-domain capabilities in modern defense and public-sector operations.
Strengthening National Capability Through Collaboration
InnoVision 2026 builds upon the momentum of the InnoVision Campus Series launched earlier this year. While the campus series focused primarily on introducing students and academic communities to emerging technologies, the latest forum expanded the initiative toward institutional collaboration, professional development, research partnerships, and nation-building.
Discussions throughout the event emphasized that meaningful technology adoption requires more than access to new tools. Institutions must also invest in developing people who can understand emerging technologies, evaluate their implications, apply them responsibly, and adapt them to local challenges.
PCC believes achieving this goal requires sustained collaboration among educational institutions, industry, government, and the defense sector.
Over the years, Philippine Coding Camp has partnered with participants and organizations from both the private and public sectors. Its programs have supported professionals from companies such as Toyota, ANZ, and JTI, while also engaging institutions including the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Department of Science and Technology.

As InnoVision continues to expand alongside PCC’s partnership with FEU Tech and the FEU Tech Innovation Center, the organizations aim to help more institutions progress beyond technology awareness by building the internal expertise, research capabilities, collaborative networks, and confidence needed to implement emerging technologies effectively.
