A star was launched last night on X-Factor Philippines. KZ Tandingan, 20, from Davao del Sur wowed the crowd and the celebrity judges with her unique rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The crowd went wild with her first performance and they asked for more (even the judges did!). The young auditionee turned everyone wilder as soon as she started rapping in the middle of her second song Ready or Not.
KZ earlier claimed that she was there to prove that the Philippine music industry is not only for those who are “maganda, makinis ang balat, matangkad at biritero’t biritera.” She revealed that her voice went through some changes due to a throat problem but this seemed to be a blessing in disguise. Looks like it led her to find her perfect genre. The four star-judges volunteering this early to take the backseat in KZ’s future concert is proof  that the girl is superbly talented. Given all that, another not-so-surprising proof is that she instantly trended on Twitter.
