When you’re 40, you will always think that you’re 20. I always think of myself as that 23-year old and it’s like you can’t see yourself as an old person,” Dr. Kaycee Reyes smilingly said this as she ventures into new and exciting projects. The founder and medical director of Luminisce Skin Clinic celebrated her nine years of medical service with the media and social media personalities last Saturday, September 18. In the said virtual mediacon, Doc Kaycee, as she is fondly called, talked about adapting to the trends even after almost a decade in the medical industry. One of the main projects is the official launch of her Youtube channel, Luminisce by Doc Kaycee.

“Although it’s not my forte, to be honest, it’s out of my comfort zone. But right now, I guess, at a certain point in your life, you just want to test the waters and see how you can reinvent yourself. So, let’s see. I used to really prefer writing,” Doc Kaycee, a newspaper columnist, detailed how she’s moving out of her comfort zone with this new online venture.

Addressing needs in the midst of a crisis

Doc Kaycee continued to explain how the current needs of her patients can also be addressed by being more visible online and making information readily available. She said, “Now, we really cannot talk to more patients because most of them don’t go to the clinic. I think it’s the best way to inform everyone how to buy aesthetic medicine, at the same time preventive medicine, with evidence-based and integrative medicine. So, it’s very important for me because it’s not just the aesthetic aspect. The skin is just the outer layer of the skin. Whatever you see on your skin is the manifestation of the inflammation of what’s happening inside your body so we need to we really need to do something for like for what’s inside. That’s why we thought of innosense.”

Innosense is the food that we’re eating right. When I created this line, I was thinking it’s part of preventive medicine, doing anti- inflammatory or causing less inflammation in the body. Preventive medicine is doing everything or doing things just to make sure that you don’t progress to certain types of diseases. Most of our diseases are man-made diseases like diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and even depression. It’s more on the lifestyle. Although it has a genetic part, the more negative events you encounter, it can be activated by lifestyle. One thing that we can control right now is the food that we’re eating. It’s important that we have less inflammation.”
Random note: Got to try a sample set from innosense and everything tasted great. That’s really a treat as the plan promises really awesome benefits for the body!

From doctor to Youtuber – meet Doc Kaycee

Here’s the trailer for the first episode launching TONIGHT at 6PM:

Nine years of Luminisce

When Luminisce opened its doors in 2012, it set foot in a local beauty industry that was almost exclusively talking about aesthetics. Nine years ago, beauty—and the clinics and brands that promoted the idea of it—was a little less nuanced compared to how it’s welcomed and talked about now. Back then, the focus was just on looking good.

Then Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations entered the picture. With its founder at the helm, Dr. Kaycee Reyes (who eventually added Bacani to her name after marrying architect-entrepreneur Nico Bacani), Luminisce began upholding standard of beauty that it continues to redefine today: to look well, you have to be well.

More than skin deep

At Luminisce, the established belief is that it’s the patient’s individual beauty that makes them beautiful, and that they can experience and maximize this through wellness felt inside and out. The boutique clinic welcomes beauty and wellness seekers from all ages so that they can experience the latest in global skin, body, and fitness solutions, with every treatment individualized to meet their specific needs and goals.

The Luminisce way is devoid of a cookie-cutter, fragmented touch. Services aren’t recommended without Dr. Kaycee and her expert team of dermatologists and aestheticians understanding the patient’s medical history, and treatments are always designed to be more than skin deep—not just about physical enhancements.

As the years went by, with Luminisce growing from its flagship branch in Bonifacio Global City to two more spaces in The Podium and in Alabang, more and more clinics embraced this holistic approach. But Luminisce has always been at the forefront, offering a curation of world-class services that often combines aesthetic treatments like cutting-edge lasers and anti-aging technologies, along with wellness therapies like lifestyle programs and preventive medicine practices.

This unique approach and inclusive perspective on beauty and wellness aren’t the only guiding principles of Luminisce. All of its doctors’ and aestheticians’ technique and know-how are founded on years of training and study, with Dr. Kaycee leading the course.

Leading-edge wellness

A graduate of our very own University of Sto. Tomas Faculty of Medicine & Surgery, Dr. Kaycee completed her Diploma in Dermatology from the King’s College in London and received a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Dermatology from St. John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s & St. Thomas Hospital, also in the U.K. She then became a visiting fellow in Dermatologic Laser Surgery both in Thailand and in Singapore, where she accrued her expertise on lasers, a trademark treatment of Luminisce.

In her relentless pursuit of excellence, Dr. Kaycee most recently completed her Master of Science in Preventive and Regenerative Medicine at Dresden International University in Germany. This makes her one of the few physicians to have an internationally-accredited degree in clinical medicine specialized in Well-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. It’s also what brought about the creation of Luminisce’s preventive medicine branch, Sol Revive.

“To give you optimum results, we combine aesthetic treatments with preventive regenerative medicine practices,” says Dr. Kaycee, highlighting her clinic’s distinct edge and proof of its readiness to constantly evolve and grow. Through this strategy, she aims to change not only the face of beauty, but also change lives.

In 2020, with most of their clientele at home, Luminisce extended the beauty and wellness experience through At-Home Kits that allows anyone to enjoy Luminisce’s facials, peels, and skincare products wherever they are. And just this year, Innosense was launched—a line of anti-inflammatory food and juices that support the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle.

Now, as Luminisce marks its ninth year, it’s poised to celebrate—and give back—with its grandest anniversary flash sale ever. “We know the past year has been difficult for all of us, and so we want to spread some joy in the best way we know how: by taking care of you and your skin,” says Dr. Kaycee. After all, today’s extraordinary times all the more underscore the importance of self-care, and why holistic wellness is here to stay.
