In an Instagram video post, Kris Aquino revealed her special someone for the very first time.

It was last August when news broke that she is dating former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mel Sarmiento. This was after the former vice-mayor, mayor, and congressman responded to a negative comment on Aquino’s Instagram post and defended the Queen of All Media.

In tonight’s post by Aquino, she is seen with Sarmiento, laughing and discussing vaguely something about retaking a video. In her caption, she shared, “We discussed this post and I thought about it carefully… marami kasi sa followers ko ang nagtatanong kung kamusta na ko because matagal na kong nawala…”

Aquino continued to reveal, “Aamin ako i’m only 95 pounds now. this pandemic and many stressful events that happened since mid August really caused my weight to drop & my health to suffer.”

Aquino then recalled the death of her brother and the country’s former president Benigno ‘Noynoy” Aquino III. She said, And it’s been exactly 4 months since we so unexpectedly lost our brother. Sure ako, ayaw nya talagang iwanan si “bunso” na walang magbabantay at magaalaga na siguradong pinagkakatiwalaan nya.”

“Somehow i believe there really was a matchmaker in heaven who must be smiling now- i can almost hear his voice telling me, ‘Kristina, tama na, respect the fact na gusto ni Mel ng tahimik na buhay.’ And finally, ‘bunso’ has learned to obey,” Aquino added, referring to her brother Noynoy as the reason that paved the way for her to meet Sarmiento.

For the first time, Aquino openly expressed a sweet message to Sarmiento publicly. With a hint that she is now engaged, Aquino said, “To my best friend and the man i said yes to spending the rest of my life with, thank you for as bimb said loving me for me, with no agenda, and for being just an overall good and patient man. It’s unreal how much more calm & peaceful i feel now that you’re here.”

Aquino reiterated her brother being instrumental in their relationship as Sarmiento was the last DILG secretary under the late president’s term. She continued, “We would never have met nor reconnected had it not been for Noy. Thank you to my kuya, kahit wala na sya ramdam na ramdam ko na kahit ilang beses kaming nagkatampuhan, kahit kailan gagawa talaga sya ng paraan na ma-assure kami nila kuya josh at bimb kung gaano nya kami kamahal at hindi talaga sya papayag na ma feel namin na kami ay mapapabayaan. We love you and we miss you.”

Aquino continued to express her gratitude to her brother and shared, “But THANK YOU, you must have known how broken i’d be to lose you, so you made sure there was someone who not only helped wipe away my tears, he’s made it possible for me to smile and laugh again. Dumating nung hindi ko hinahanap o inaasahan- kaya nga tama silang lahat na nagsabi in God’s perfect time.”

In an intriguing last part of post, Aquino hinted on future plans of marriage with Sarmiento. She ended, “We agreed, what’s personal shall remain private so hanggang dito lang ang pwede kong ma share. Except i guess to say as much as i am proud to be an Aquino, looking forward na kong maging Sarmiento.”
