Hong Kong, a city that seamlessly blends urban excitement with serene escapes, sets the stage for KD Estrada’s latest music video, “Be with U.” Starring KD and his real-life partner, Alexa Ilacad, the video takes viewers on a romantic journey through hidden gems and iconic landmarks, showcasing the diverse experiences Hong Kong offers to couples.

A meeting with a view

The video opens with KD and Alexa crossing paths at the Peak Galleria Observation Deck, a spacious vantage point offering breathtaking panoramas of Victoria Peak and the city skyline. Imagine sharing this awe-inspiring vista with your loved one, creating a memory that will last a lifetime. This observation deck is a hidden gem located on Level 3 of the Peak Galleria mall, offering complimentary access and a less crowded alternative to other viewpoints.

Island escape: Cheung Chau

The story unfolds on Cheung Chau Island, a charming island retreat accessible by ferry from Central Pier No. 5. With its car-free streets, quaint villages, and picturesque harbor, Cheung Chau provides a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The standard ferry takes about an hour, while the fast ferry takes 35-40 minutes.

“I don’t get to ride bikes often, so I was a bit shaky, but KD was there to help,” shares Alexa, recalling their cycling adventure through the island’s scenic paths. “Cheung Chau was the perfect place to take it slow on the bike as it’s very scenic and there are no cars to chase you down,” she adds with a laugh. Rent a bike from shops like Hin Zi Fong Bike Shop and explore the island at your own pace.

A taste of tradition

KD and Alexa’s culinary journey begins at Kwok Kam Kee (G/F, 46 Pak She Street), the oldest lucky bun bakery in Cheung Chau. “The sweetness is a nice surprise and is different from other steamed buns I’ve had,” says Alexa, savoring the iconic treat. KD adds, “The texture is what makes it stand out. It’s really filling, nakakabusog siya, no?” Kwok Kam Kee is famous for making approximately 30,000 buns during the annual Cheung Chau Bun Festival.

Super sarap!”

For a relaxing break, head to Space (7 Tai Hing Tai Road), a quaint café with harbor views and affordable menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Love is in the air

At the Love Lock Wall (156 Sun Hing Back Street), a maze of chain-link fences adorned with love locks and heartfelt messages, KD and Alexa leave their mark with a hand-painted portrait. The BnB The Creative Workshop (82 Tung Wan Road) provides the perfect opportunity for couples to create their own personalized tokens of affection.
