Filipino Ska Band ZCENTIDO Set to Perform at the PhilSka Music Festival
In celebration of the Philippine Ska Community’s 1st anniversary on November 17, PHILIPPINE SKA COMMUNITY (in cooperation with INFINITY ADS SOLUTION) brings us the biggest and grandest ska music festival in Philippine history– PHILSKA MUSIC FESTIVAL 2018, happening on DECEMBER 1 at Mayflower Parking, Greenfield District, Mandaluyong, 2pm.

WHAT IS SKA?
SKA is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and is said to be the the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. Ska is a combination of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues or R&B.

Filipino fans are expected to witness a night filled with music and lots of fun. It features two global ska talents plus 13 homegrown ska bands headlining the music fest.
Two international ska bands are ready to invade Pinoy stage: Beat Bahnhof (Japan) and Red Stripes (Hongkong). The two paved the way for the music festival to be mounted.
Thirteen (13) homegrown ska bands are ready for epic performances that will keep the audience on their feet:

- Todo PasaToday, the Philippines has yet to discover the beat and sound of ska, but it has already reached its audience. These 13 homegrown ska bands are set to showcase the music from its tone to its message.
Mr. Noel Salonga, founder of PhilSka community, gives his vision: to create a community of not only musicians but group of people who deeply appreciates ska music.
Since the group have already reached 3,000+ members and still increasing locally and acknowledged internationally, he thought that this is the time to have a grand meetup with everyone.
With this music festival, who knows, ska music can be on mainstream too.
