Former BLVCK Flowers member Chryzquin Yu goes solo as a BLVCK Entertainment Inc. talent
Former BLVCK Flowers member Chryzquin Yu was officially launched as a solo music artist under Blvck Entertainment at Noctos Bar on April 12, 2025. At her launch, Chryzquin shared the story of her showbiz journey and gave her fans and members of the press a glimpse of her powerful performances.

Early Career and Discovery by Blvck Entertainment
Chryzquin revealed that her involvement in the entertainment industry began in her early years. “Actually po I started being in this career po since I was little and then nagjo-join po kasi ako sa mga TV talent showcase like sa ABS-CBN, TV5,” she explained. She further elaborated on how her path intersected with Blvck Entertainment: “One of the talent shows po na I joined before, I think it was three years ago, was Dance Entertainment po of TV5 and then from there po, I built connections with the people in that show. Then one day po lumabas sa [Facebook] wall ko na parang there’s an audition from Black Entertainment and I got curious and of course po try, ‘pag may opportunity po akong nakikita, tine-take ko po siya.” All she wanted was to be a part of the mainstream entertainment scene.

Lifelong Passion for Performing
For Chryzquin, performing has been a lifelong aspiration. “It’s always been my dream since I was a kid na I want to perform on stage and showcase my talent,” she stated. “I discovered that I could dance and sing as early as four years old,” Chryzquin added. She eventually underwent talent workshops to. hone her skills.

Musical Style and Influences
Discussing her musical style, Chryzquin shared, “Since I am a newly launched music artist, in this album po that we’re gonna release or launch, it’s more on pop, country, with a little bit of hip hop…So, as an artist po, I want to try different genres muna and then from there po, kung saan po ako mas mamahalin ng tao and kung saan po ako mas magugustuhan, that’s the path I’ll take.” According to Chryzquin, Blvck Entertainment brought out the songwriter in her and she’s thrilled to show us her creativity through her writing.

She also expressed her excitement about discovering her songwriting abilities: “For this album, makikita niyo rin po ‘yung creativity ko when it comes to writing music.” Regarding her upcoming single, she said, “The song that you’ll be hearing later is a collaboration.”
Chryzquin acknowledged her musical influences, citing both international and local artists. She shared,”Musical influence po international, I really love Taylor Swift and Lisa Manoban of Blackpink. And for local po, I love Sarah Geronimo and of course BINI. ‘Yun po ‘yung musical influences ko.”
Dance and Music
Chryzquin confirmed that her dance background would be reflected in her music. “Yes po. Actually po, ‘yung ipeperform ko later is a mix of just singing, dancing, and a mix of both. And for this album po um yes po there would be songs na very danceable. I want to be diverse and have different genres.”

Education and Acting Aspirations
Despite her burgeoning music career, Chryzquin is also focused on her education. “Actuall, I’m still studying and I’m on my fourth year. Kaka-defend ko lang po ng thesis ko yesterday. I’m taking up Marketing Management po sa University of Santo Tomas (UST) and I really tried na full sched. I didn’t do homeschool because I really do believe that education is still a priority.”

The Blvck Entertainment artist also shared her thoughts on potentially crossing over to acting and pursuing it in the future. “Actually, I’ve done some acting in the past… and then ngayon po since Black is also releasing movies or parang they’re also producing movies, I’m very open to opportunities.”
Relationship with Blvck Entertainment
Chryzquin emphasized the importance of a good relationship with her management, Blvck Entertainment, owned and led by Engrs. Grace and Louie Cristobal. “For me po it’s really important because our management or ‘yung management is our second home. Kumbaga, they become our second parents…So it’s very important that you trust your management, you trust the process, and you have to treat them as your second parents talaga.”
Chryzquin’s career took a new direction when she became a pre-debut member of the girl group Blvck Flowers, where she assumed the roles of lead rapper and main dancer. Although her debut was delayed due to a health reason, Chryzquin turned this setback into an opportunity for growth. After months of recovery, she returned to intense training, determined to return stronger and more focused than ever. In addition to her performances, Chryzquin has been recognized in several K-pop fan events, winning the 2023 Best Rapper award at the KPOP Static KPOP Cover Artist Awards and her presence at PPOP Awards 2023, won for her the “Star of the Night,” title.
Future Goals and Past Achievements
Looking ahead, Chryzquin envisions performing on bigger stages and collaborating with her idols in the coming years. Her biggest break before her solo debut was being a grand finalist in the “Girl on Fire” segment of the show “Showtime,” where she showcased her solo ballroom dancing skills. Just like her favorite artist Sarah G, Chryzquin is an artist who transforms effortlessly onstage.
Chryzquin’s debut single under Blvck Music, titled “’Di Na” and featuring Jake Piedad, is now available on all music streaming platforms, with more songs anticipated for release in the near future. The music video for “’Di Na,” directed by Louie Ong, is also accessible for streaming on YouTube.
