Remember that heartwarming fastfood commercial about first love? There was a little girl who dipped her French fries into the chocolate sundae before eventually transforming into the modern-day leading lady. That girl was Franchesca Salcedo, more popularly known in showbiz as Cruzita. Chesca owned the name of her memorable character as the daughter of “Marimar Aldama” and “Sergio Santibanez” played by Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. This was in GMA’s 2007 remake of popular Mexican telenovela Marimar. She has since grown from the bubbly child to a refined young lady.

Since 2007, Cruzita has explored several projects. Her remarkable ones are Rosalinda, Panday Kids, Magic Palayok, Amaya, Tween Hearts, Baker King, Kambal Karibal, and The Lost Recipe. She juggles her showbiz career with school and pursues education at her own pace. At 21, she’s a senior high school student with the humanities track. “Push lang, if gusto mo talaga, hindi ka susuko,” this has been Cruzita’s mantra that served as her staying power in the competitive industry.

Now, Cruzita finds a new home under the care and management of Rams David of Artist Circle. She is excited to propel her career to greater heights with the help of her new team. Aside from working again with her onscreen parents Dingdong and Marian more than a decade ago, Cruzita wishes to work with director Joyce Bernal again, Kelvin Miranda, and Bea Alonzo. Also on her list is her celebrity crush, ’90s heartthrob Patrick Garcia. When asked if there’s a specific genre she has in mind to explore, Cruzita is aiming for horror.
