FROM worship stages to concert halls and now to tennis arenas, RJ Dela Fuente is proving that passion and purpose can shine in more ways than one. Known for his soulful voice and faith-driven music, the singer and recording artist recently released “Blessings” — a heartfelt and inspiring collaboration with Gary Valenciano under Sony Music Philippines.
But lately, RJ has also been turning heads in a different arena: the Philippine tennis circuit. A former USTA junior champion from California, RJ rediscovered his first love — tennis — after years of focusing on music and ministry. What began as friendly matches with friends soon led to a full-fledged comeback.
With guidance from Coach Ronald Roces and support from AJ Lim, the Philippines’ No. 1 men’s player, RJ is now competing in national tournaments across the country. Since his return, he has played in major events including the PCA Open, Olivarez National Championships, and Lucena Open, where he reached the Men’s Open Doubles Semifinals with AJ Lim.

At the Gentry Open, he achieved his career-best Men’s Singles Round of 16 finish, battling eventual champion and Davis Cup standout Iggy Pantino in a spirited match that earned praise from fans and peers alike. Beyond the court, RJ continues to inspire as a worship leader at Favor Church and through his music that celebrates hope, perseverance, and faith.

“I’m grateful I get to do what I love — sing, serve, and play,” RJ says. “Whether on stage or on court, my goal is the same: to glorify God and inspire others to chase their passion.” Next up, RJ competes in the Asmara Open (Cebu) and Olivarez National Championships (Parañaque) — determined to keep growing both as an athlete and an artist. From the spotlight to the service line, RJ Dela Fuente reminds us that blessings come in many forms — sometimes, even with a racket in hand.
