Back in 2017, we featured 24-year old doll dress designer Alvin Ocampo who made a cute version of Maymay Entrata’s sparkly Mark Bumgarner gown for the Star Magic Ball 2017. Fans online and I went crazy over the miniature version of the lovely dress and the photos and my behind-the-scenes video feature went viral. A lot of us anticipated who his new muse would be in 2018 and 2019.
Last year, Bin (his nickname) quickly recreated the doll dress version of Kathryn Bernardo’s ABS-CBN Ball outfit days after the event. The immaculate white dress was made by esteemed fashion designer Jun Escario. Interestingly, Bin has a mini replica of the Queen of Hearts’ ball gown from last year’s Star Magic Ball too. The sparkling beige gown looked lovely even in its miniature version. Well, what makes his creations even better now is that the doll’s face was repainted to look like Kathryn too. Uncanny resemblance! (Photos below)

Check out the photos of the “Kathryn” modeling the Star Magic Ball 2017 dress in Doha, Qatar. It’s pretty cool that Bin does his sewing even when he travels! It took him weeks to finish the beadwork for this tiny version.
This time, it only took Bin three hours to finish the dress. Lovelyyy, isn’t it? It’s just so cute to see the young superstar’s doll version. Check out those art-imitates-life photos:
What surprised us this 2019 is Alvin’s super detailed miniature version of our very own Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. From the national costume (yes, with the classic parol or Christmas lantern!) to her now iconic lava gown, Alvin replicated everything like he shrunk Catriona.
