The air in Sucat, Paranaque is filled with the rhythm of hip-hop. It’s a place where rhymes flow like the tides, and beats echo through the streets. From this vibrant scene emerges John Syrone Elesterio, known to his fans as Yhanzy.

Yhanzy’s musical journey began in 2011, a spark ignited by his father’s passion for music. With the guidance of his mentor, Jerome Paycana, he honed his skills as a songwriter and performer. In 2015, he joined the rap group Musikalye, a collective that produced YouTube hits like “Napagod Na,” “Takot Na Ang Puso,” and “Sana Ako Parin.” He also explored his solo artistry, releasing tracks such as “Paulit-Ulit,” “Hangganan,” and “Kung ‘Di Ka Dumating.”

His talent caught the attention of national television in 2018 when he competed in “HypeBest,” a rap competition on the popular show “It’s Showtime.” Although he reached the semi-finals, this experience only fueled his ambition.

Something Yhanzy: A New Chapter

2024 marks a significant turning point in Yhanzy’s career with the release of his digital album, “Something Yhanzy,” under the label Blvck Music. The album’s lead single, “Liwanag ng Buwan,” is a serenade to a future love. Each track on the album, all composed by Yhanzy himself, explores the multifaceted nature of love: “Comebvck,” “Feb 13” (featuring Kritiko), “Aasa Ba?,” “Mahal Ako,” and “Tears Trap.”

More Than Music: A Message of Hope

Yhanzy’s aspirations extend beyond musical success. He aims to be a beacon of inspiration for young people, demonstrating that with unwavering dedication, hard work, and faith, dreams can transform into reality.

Blvck Music executives, Louie and Grace Cristobal, recognize Yhanzy’s immense potential. They believe he has the talent and drive to become a respected figure in the music industry. “Something Yhanzy” is now available on all major streaming platforms. The music video for “Liwanag ng Buwan,” directed by Edrex Sanchez, can be found on YouTube. The video was produced with the support of Alkaviva Waters Philippines, GLC Infinite Waters International Co., Grace Electronics Philippines, Blue Green Dragon Marketing, LG Realty Development, and Blvck Creatives Studio.
