Gabbi Garcia proudly affirms her connection to GMA Network, stating, “forever a proud, homegrown Kapuso!” This declaration came during her recent renewal of her contract with the company on Friday, May 23.
The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from GMA, including President and CEO Gilberto Duavit Jr., EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, and GMA Senior VP for Programming and Talent Management, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes. Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s First Vice President, Joy Marcelo, was also present, along with other executives such as Angel Javier-Cruz, Gigi Santiago-Lara, and Regie C. Bautista.
Supporting Gabbi were her parents, Vince and Tes Lopez, her boyfriend Kapuso actor Khalil Ramos, and friends from the entertainment industry, all there to cheer her on.
Throughout the event, GMA executives expressed their admiration for Gabbi’s growth and achievements. Gilberto Duavit Jr. highlighted how quickly she has risen in her career over just a decade, noting, “Your achievements speak for themselves. From acting, hosting, all leading up to the great trust not only the viewing public has in you but also important and big brands.” He added, “You (Gabbi) are a success story. Gabbi is an example of living the dream.”
Joy Marcelo shared her heartfelt thoughts, saying, “I’ve seen Gabbi through the ups and tumbles, and I can say that she is someone not only full of talent but with a pure heart… She gives her all, that’s why we’ve never stopped being with her.”
Gabbi’s speech was filled with emotion as she looked back on her journey. She reminisced about her early days with GMA, sharing, “When I was younger, I often got rejected in auditions and VTRs. But GMA was one of the few who embraced me, who welcomed me and saw something in me. They believed in me without even knowing what I had to offer. That was 11 years ago.”
She expressed gratitude for her current relationship with GMA, saying, “Cut to this day, GMA is my home. GMA is my second family. I thank you for giving me this opportunity to remain a loyal Kapuso.”
Gabbi also took a moment to thank her Sparkle family, stating, “They’re not just my management—they are my family. I have ‘moms’ in Sparkle—Ms. Joy (Marcelo), Ms. Jan (Navarro), and Ms. Annette (Gozon-Valdes). Thank you very much.”
