The event drew a massive crowd, with over 3,000 visitors on the first day alone. Organizers anticipated a total of 10,000 attendees over the three-day event, filling the four halls of the SMX Convention Center.

Sustainability Takes Center Stage

PackPrintPlas Philippines 2024 went beyond showcasing the latest machinery. Recognizing the crucial role of packaging and labeling in consumer decisions, the event highlighted the importance of responsible waste management. In a world grappling with environmental challenges, the expo emphasized the potential of this often-overlooked sector to generate new business opportunities.

The Philippine Plastics Industries Association (PPIA) and the Philippine Center for Print Excellence Foundation (PCPEF) spearheaded this initiative, creating a Material Recovery Facility Area (MRF) within the exhibition hall. This interactive space demonstrated the proper recycling of paper and plastics, showcasing the diverse range of products that can be created from recycled materials, from bags and clothing to construction materials.

Knowledge Sharing and Networking

PackPrintPlas also provided a platform for learning and collaboration. The Packaging Institute of the Philippines (PIP) hosted a Packaging Conference, offering attendees valuable insights into global packaging trends and circular economy initiatives. The conference provided a unique opportunity to network with industry leaders from major companies like URC, Jollibee, and San Miguel.

Looking Ahead: PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025

With the success of the 2024 event, anticipation is already building for the 31st edition of PackPrintPlas Philippines, scheduled for September 18-20, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center Manila. This upcoming event promises to further elevate the packaging, printing, and plastics industries, solidifying Southeast Asia’s position as a global player.
