EW Villa Medica, a global healthcare group focused on preventive and regenerative medicine, cellular therapy, and anti-aging/aesthetic programs, reiterated that it is no longer connected to or affiliated with Villa Medica Philippines (VMP), including its clinic or branches in Newport Mall and Bonifacio Global City (BGC), during a press briefing held Wednesday, September 30, at Solaire North.

The clarification is part of the company’s continuing efforts to protect its name and reputation, while preventing public confusion and safeguarding patients, clients, suppliers, partners, and medical practitioners.

The briefing and media Q&A were facilitated by The Law Group’s Atty. Unica Amor Mananquil (left) and Atty. Lorraine Taguiam (right)

In its public notices, European Wellness, EW Villa Medica Germany, and Villa Medica Germany stated that Villa Medica Philippines or VMP is not connected to, affiliated with, authorized, licensed, endorsed or approved by them. The notice says that the clarification covers any website, image, certificate, social media page, representative, officer, employee, agent, clinic, branch, service, product, treatment, protocol, transaction, payment or representation made under or through Villa Medica Philippines or VMP.

EW Villa Medica also claimed that the “EW Villa Medica” and “Villa Medica” brands are owned exclusively by European Wellness Biomedical Group.

According to the notice signed by Prof. Mike Chan, owner of European Wellness Biomedical Group, the EW Villa Medica Manila Premier Centre in Newport Mall, Pasay City is no longer connected with EW Villa Medica, and that the licensing relationship with the Manila Centre and entrepreneur Crystal Jacinto had already ended. The notice further declares that no further license or authority was granted by Villa Medica to transfer its clinic or open a new branch in the Philippines.

EW Villa Medica said the notices were issued to prevent any misconception that Villa Medica Philippines remains connected with European Wellness, EW Villa Medica Germany, or Villa Medica Germany.

The company’s notice states that European Wellness, EW Villa Medica Germany and Villa Medica Germany reserve all rights and remedies under law against any unauthorized use of their names, images, doctors, certificates, goodwill, intellectual property, systems, products, protocols and reputation.

The company said the move is also intended to protect patients who may believe they are receiving products or services connected to the German brand.

“Your health, safety, and results are our highest priority,” the company said in a separate notice on the authenticity of Villa Medica products. The parent group is reminding customers to verify products through its official channels.

EW Villa Medica said every authentic Villa Medica Germany and EW Villa Medica product is accompanied by an official Certificate of Authentication issued by European Wellness Group. Each product carries the specified Villa Medica and European Wellness logos.

The company also discussed its ongoing efforts to address the use of the Villa Medica name and intellectual property in the Philippines.

For official verification, EW Villa Medica has identified the following recognized websites:

  • European-Wellness.com
  • Villa-Medica.com
  • EW-VillaMedica.com

The company also lists verification@ew-villamedica.com as its verification email for Villa Medica products.

EW Villa Medica advises customers and the public to verify the authenticity of products and any claimed affiliation through its official channels before availing of products or services.

The September 30 briefing therefore served primarily as EW Villa Medica’s latest public clarification of its position that its relationship with Villa Medica Philippines has ended, that it wants to protect its brand, and that it wants patients and consumers to verify affiliations and products through its official channels.

Random Republika welcomes the official statement from the other party.

Editor’s note:

As of this writing, I am still awaiting the response of the VMP Regenerative Clinic team to my detailed questions regarding the matter. I have reached out via e-mail and Instagram to give the clinic the opportunity to clarify its position, particularly on its relationship with EW Villa Medica, its products and treatments, and the trademark and intellectual property issues. I will update this report should VMP provide a response.
