These days, finding a doctor you can trust feels just as important as finding the right treatment. Before I ever met Dr. Kei George Rebolledo in person, I already felt familiar with him through social media.

Like many Filipinos during the pandemic, I would occasionally come across his TikTok videos while scrolling. I even remember adding a KBK soap to my TikTok Shop cart at one point, only to find it nearly sold out.

That is why it was particularly interesting to finally meet the man behind the screen and see firsthand how far his brand has come in just a few years.

Today, Doc Kei is the founder of Kutis by Kei (KBK), a growing dermatology and aesthetic practice with branches across Metro Manila. Most recently, he unveiled a new and expanded clinic in Mandaluyong. This move reflects both the increasing demand for his services and his long-term vision for the brand.

The journey, however, began from much humbler beginnings. The doctor-slash-content creator shared, “So, I graduated dermatology residency during the pandemic no. So during that time there was no way to open a physical clinic because it was not allowed. So, I started my practice in our garage in our house. Thankfully, due to social media, nairos natin. Then we were able to build our first branch in Paraanaque. So, I started there kasi it’s the one nearest our house. Then, actually this branch in Mandaluyong, is the second branch. But s’yempre during that time, nag-iipon pa lang ako. So for our second branch, it was very small. It was only 45 square meters.”

What was once a compact clinic has now evolved into a much larger facility. Located on the second floor of the Zitan Building along Shaw Boulevard, the new Mandaluyong branch occupies approximately 150 square meters (more than three times of the previous one!) and features seven treatment rooms and treatment cubicles designed to accommodate more patients comfortably.

Walking into the clinic, the first thing that stood out was the vibe. The interiors are warm and inviting, filled with soft beige and earthy tones that immediately create a sense of calm. The color palette feels easy on the eyes and far removed from the intimidating environment often associated with medical facilities.

One charming detail was the presence of teddy bears inside some of the procedure rooms. It’s a small touch, but one that adds warmth and personality to the space. In many ways, the clinic reflects its founder who was very hands-on in coming up with the cave-inspired design. The environment feels approachable, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, much like Doc Kei himself.

Throughout conversations during the opening, Doc Kei came across as friendly, energetic, and genuinely enthusiastic about his work. His passion for dermatology is evident, and it is perhaps one of the reasons why patients continue to gravitate toward him.

The decision to relocate and expand the Mandaluyong branch was not simply about growth. It was also about improving the patient experience. Doc Kei shared,
“Naaawa ako sa patients kasi sometimes they would line up. It’s really small. We needed to put chairs na sa labas. They were so many and some of them nakatayo na sa may escalator. S’yempre hindi maganda since we are an aesthetic and dermatology clinic. We want to improve ourselves all the time and make it a very comfortable and luxurious experience for our patients.”

Rather than immediately adding more locations, Doc Kei said he chose to strengthen his existing clinics first. He said, “Sabi ko instead of building a fifth branch, I would prioritize muna fixing my oldest branches para here in Metro Manila the four branches, I have one in Parañaque so that is south, one in Makati medyo center, one in Mandaluyong medyo Center, then QC, north. Ayusin ko muna ‘yung apat before I explore kasi I want to expand na sa province soon so before I move there gusto ko plakado and maayos, maganda lahat ng branches in Manila.”

That careful approach appears to be paying off. The new Mandaluyong clinic feels more like the next phase of the brand or a preview of the future.
Part of Doc Kei’s success can also be traced to his strong online presence, which has helped him build relationships with patients long before they walk through the clinic doors.

“If I have a niche, I would say it’s OFWs kasi napapanood nila ako from all around the world. So, when they come here, they’re very excited to see me kasi parang they see me every day in their mind kasi they watch me sa social media. So parang kilala na nila ako when they see me. So, parang nagugulat sila ‘pag nakikita nila ako kasi parang may sort of nostalgia siya for the patient.”

Despite his popularity online, Doc Kei says there is no single demographic that dominates his patient base. “So, I would say that’s our niche. But parati akong tinatanong, ‘What’s your market?,’ he shared, “Wala talaga eh. I get from A to E and there’s no specific na mas lumalamang kumbaga. There’s no majority girls, majority boys. ‘Yun yung maganda about this clinic since it’s led by me, which is rare, a male dermatologist. We also get a lot of male patients and most of my doctors are actually majority males.”

The clinic continues to position itself as a comprehensive dermatology practice while keeping the aesthetics. When asked about the treatments available at KBK, Doc Kei emphasized the distinction between dermatology and purely cosmetic medicine. “So, when we say dermatology the term is or should be used for um someone who can treat both skin diseases. What are skin diseases? Psoriasis, vitiligo, scabies, and others,” he said.

Doc Kei further explained the difference between dermatologists and aesthetic physicians. “When we say aesthetic physician, then that doctor is focused on doing pampaganda, okay? Botox, fillers, chemical peels. So, dermatologists can do both – treat the skin diseases and perform aesthetic procedures. So, that’s what we do in our clinic.”

The Kutis by Kei clinic opening also introduced a new technology exclusive to the Mandaluyong branch — the QuadroStarPRO YELLOW 577nm laser.

Designed primarily for redness-related skin concerns such as rosacea, telangiectasia, post-acne erythema, hemangiomas, and other vascular lesions, the system uses a wavelength that closely matches the absorption peak of oxyhemoglobin, allowing for more precise targeting of blood vessels while minimizing thermal effects on surrounding tissue.

Compared with conventional 532nm green lasers, the platform offers stronger hemoglobin absorption and reduced melanin interaction, making it particularly relevant for patients with Fitzpatrick skin types III and IV, where minimizing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is often a consideration.

The device also features an integrated cooling system and scanning delivery mechanism that allows more uniform treatment coverage while improving patient comfort. Beyond vascular concerns, it may also be used for selected pigmentary conditions and certain benign skin lesions.

For someone who first encountered Dr. Kei through short-form videos during the pandemic, seeing the scale of what he has built today is really inspiring. What started in a garage has grown into a network of clinics serving patients from different walks of life, including Filipinos returning from abroad who already feel they know their doctor before meeting him.

What stands out is the sense that the clinic’s growth has remained closely tied to its founder’s personality. We know that when Doc Kei is in, people are set to feel confident in their own skin. Literally. 🙂
