The South Korean wave, or Hallyu, continues to make waves in the Philippines. From K-pop and K-dramas to Korean beauty and fashion, the country has wholeheartedly embraced various aspects of Korean culture. And now, even the culinary scene is feeling the heat with the opening of BB.Q Chicken’s twelfth branch in the Philippines, marking its debut in the southern part of Metro Manila. Located in Festival Supermall, Alabang, this new outlet brings the unique flavors developed by Genesis BBQ’s Chicken University to eager foodies in the area.

The grand opening was a star-studded affair, graced by former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson, Congresswoman Richelle Singson, and 4C Salt and Light Food Corp. CEO Carleen Singson. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the program host emphasized BB.Q Chicken’s mission, saying, “When it was founded, the vision of the restaurant was to share the flavors of Korea with the world. We’re not just here to open a new location but to share the heritage and culinary legacy of BB.Q Chicken.”

Established in Seoul in 1995, BB.Q Chicken prides itself on its “Best of the Best Quality” approach, which combines traditional Korean cooking methods with modern research. Their signature fried chicken is hand-brushed, hand-battered, and fried at lower temperatures for a longer time, resulting in an irresistibly crispy texture. A variety of signature sauces complements the chicken perfectly.
