Prepare for the fourth installment in the Hellboy saga, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” hitting Philippine theaters on September 11th. Helmed by Brian Taylor, the film transports us to the Appalachian Region of the late 1950s, where Hellboy faces off against The Crooked Man and his sinister coven of witches.
Jack Kesy takes on the role of Hellboy, a demon raised by humans, imbued with a kind heart and a heroic spirit. As an agent for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD), Hellboy is tasked with transporting a magical spider to their lab. He’s accompanied by a rookie agent, Bobby Jo Song, portrayed by Adeline Rudolph.
Their mission takes a perilous turn when the spider breaks free, leading them into a town plagued by witches. Here, they encounter a cast of compelling characters, including Tom Ferrel, who possesses a bone imbued with magical properties; Cora Fisher, a witch torn between her loyalty to The Crooked Man and her desire for freedom; Effie, The Crooked Man’s formidable right-hand woman; and Tom’s father, tragically transformed into a horse.
Together, they resolve to vanquish The Crooked Man, but the path ahead is fraught with danger, as they confront terrifying creatures and their enemy’s formidable powers.
Martin Massindale embodies the menacing Crooked Man, bringing his experience from films like “On Chesil Beach” and “Holmes & Watson” to the role.
“Hellboy: The Crooked Man” is penned by the acclaimed creator and artist Mike Mignola, who also serves as executive producer. Mignola’s creative influence extends to projects like Disney’s “ATLANTIS” and Guillermo del Toro’s “Hellboy” films.
