Today, December 26, Reality Entertainment CEO Dondon Monteverde released his statement on the disqualification of their film entry Honor Thy Father at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2015‘s Best Picture category. It has been reported that the non-disclosure of Honor Thy Father’s participation as the opening film at the Cinema One Originals was the reason for the disqualification.

It can be recalled that Honor Thy Father was not originally part of this year’s list of MMFF 2015 entries. When the film Hermano Puli/Pule backed out last October, this now controversial and well-reviewed John Lloyd Cruz-starrer was included.
