A lot of today’s long-standing actors and actresses on TV and film have a noticeable pattern. They seem to come from the same place — the Pinoy Big Brother house. Beyond being a well-loved reality show, it has become a training ground where personalities are tested, shaped, and introduced to the public in their most unfiltered form.
After four months inside Bahay ni Kuya, the Kapamilya Big Four finally opened up about their rollercoaster journey during this month’s Spotlight Presscon.
Fourth Big Placer Miguel Vergara reflected on how his PBB stint became a turning point in how people see him. Having spent years in the industry, Miguel admitted that audiences had only known him through the characters he played on-screen. Entering the PBB house gave him the chance to show a more personal side—his real self.
“Matagal na po ako sa industriya so ang nakikita lang po nila is yung mga show ko po. Yung mga characters ko po, but now po siguro po nung pagpasok ko ng PBB, ang gusto ko pong makita nila sakin ay si ‘Miguel’ naman,” the young actor shared.
Third Big Placer Joaquin Arce, whose stay was filled with defining and emotional moments, spoke sincerely about the lessons he gained. For him, the experience was grounding.
“PBB really teaches you to appreciate yung mga bagay na meron ka… that’s actually one of the valuable lessons na I learned—na you should really appreciate every single little thing,” he said.
He admitted that living inside the house reshaped him—pushing him toward introspection and helping him grow into a stronger, more self-aware version of himself.
Second Big Placer Krystal Mejes, meanwhile, recalled how overwhelming everything felt the moment she returned home after the Big Night.
“Ako po pag uwi ko ng bahay after big night nag phone po ako. After ko pong kausapin yung family ko nag scroll po ako tapos di po ako nakatulog… may time na nakatulala lang po ako because I was trying to process everything, because it was so overwhelming,” she admitted.
For Big Winner Lella Ford, the experience has been nothing short of life-changing—overwhelming in the best possible way. Despite coming from a well-known family, she sees PBB as her chance to step out of those shadows and define her own path.
“Ang dream ko po talaga ay maging isang mahusay na aktres,” she shared, with a mix of humility and determination.
Lella views her journey as a stepping stone—an opportunity for people to see her beyond being Karla Estrada’s daughter and Daniel Padilla’s sister, and to recognize her for who she is as an individual.
Beyond the competition, what truly stayed with the Big Four was the bond they formed inside the house. Despite their busy schedules, they continue to make time for each other, holding on to the connection they built during their stay.
“Everytime na nagkikita kami it’s just so fun talaga kasi we’re used to being with each other po 24/7 inside the house and then now dun lang po talaga kami naghiwalay. It was so good seeing everyone,” Lella shared.
Now stepping into the real world, the Kapamilya Big Four face a future filled with opportunities already beginning to unfold. With new projects on the horizon and a growing fan base behind them, their journey proves that sometimes, the most unexpected place can shape the next generation of stars.
