Star Magic artists Marielle Montellano and JM dela Cerna, named as the Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 4’s Grand Winners shine at the Star Magic Spotlight Press Conference held on April 20, 2026, at the Dolphy Theatre, ABS-CBN.
The two vocal powerhouses known as the Birit Duo of the season shared how the grueling competition served as a turning point in their respective careers.
JM shared that the journey was about more than just mimicking artists, it was a lesson in taking risks in artistry as well. Known for his technical precision, JM admitted that the show forced him to break out of his shell and embrace the unknown.
“Siguro yung pinaka, nakapagpa-realize sa akin is that the greatest risk is not taking any risk at all, ‘yun po yung napulot ko talaga after Your Face Sounds Familiar.” JM said, when asked about the greatest lesson of their journey.
Marielle Montellano, on the other hand, found a deeper sense of purpose through the competition. Beyond the prosthetic makeup and costumes, she discovered that the heart of a performance lies in the emotional connection with the audience.
“Being part of Your Face pushed me to become more intentional, not just with my music.” Marielle noted. “Hindi lang siya basta-basta, andyan lang ‘tas kakantahin mo as is, dapat pala you put your heart into it, your soul, and how I connect with the audience as well,”said Marielle.
