Kira Balinger and LA Santos set to topbill Director Benedict Mique’s upcoming film ‘Maple Leaf Dreams’
Lonewolf Films, JRB Creative Production, and Star Magic are teaming up to produce the film “Maple Leaf Dreams,” starring Kira Balinger and LA Santos.

At the story conference last week, the two actors were introduced. Directed by Benedict Mique and written by Hanna Cruz, the movie is set to begin filming this month. As revealed, the story revolves around Molly and Macky, a couple who are struggling to establish themselves in Canada for the sake of their families.
The film aims to showcase the challenges faced by overseas Filipino workers, beyond just their work. Balinger explained that the film will depict the struggles and behind-the-scenes realities of those who work their way up from the bottom. Santos expressed his excitement and nervousness about the project, which he believes will turn out well under Migue’s direction.
The movie will also feature the struggles and joys of kababayans abroad, with Migue expressing his personal connection to the story as his wife and son are in Canada. The film aims to present the stories of Filipinos who aspire to migrate to Canada, not only those based in the Philippines, but also those from other countries like Dubai and Kuwait.
