LA Santos gets nominated for ‘Best New Male Personality’ at the 35th Star Awards for TV
Almost five years ago, singer-turned-actor LA Santos entered showbusiness through his love for music. His journey may be slow but it was steady. Hard work and perseverance were keys to his success as he did front act stints in local and international concerts. While on a roll, acting opened its doors for LA. Eventually, he found himself hooked.
After putting in the work and polishing his acting craft, the young artist is finally getting noticed. In the recently released list of finalists, LA is nominated for the PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club) Star Awards’ Best New Male Personality award for his performance in ABS-CBN’s Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.
Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin is a drama series topbilled by Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado and Sam Milby. LA was part of the hit teleserye’s Season 2. He portrayed the role of Alfred Vega, a victim of bullying that file interviews revealed he really prepared for it. The singer-actor shared that bullying is something he feels strongly about. The series is currently available on popular streaming app Netflix with the international title “The Law of Revenge.”
In a recent interview, LA raved about acting and revealed that he has gotten attached to the craft.
“Na-attach po ako mismo sa art of acting,” singer-turned-actor LA Santos spoke about acting on TV with so much passion. He enjoyed experiencing different characters and breathing life into them. His most recent acting stint revolves around the lives of the paramedic team members in the current hit teleserye Mars Ravelo’s Darna. He gets to work with some of today’s hottest stars Joshua Garcia, Janella Salvador and Jane De Leon.
Aside from career-defining techniques from acting experts, LA holds Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin co-star and lead actress Jodi Sta. Maria’s advice so dearly. She said, “Huwag na huwag mong kakalimutan bakit mo ito ginagawa.” The reminder keeps LA grounded and true to his core.
