Senator Robinhood “Robin” C. Padilla commended the 48 new reservists who graduated from the Basic Citizen Military Course (BCMC). The Sandigang Alab Batch 10 reservists were primarily composed of Senate employees.
Padilla joined Philippine Navy officials, including Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., Flag Officer in Command; MGen. Joseph Ferrous Cuison, Commander of the Naval Reserve Command; and Capt. Junmar Sales, NCR Commander, in welcoming the new reservists at their graduation ceremony.
The reservists underwent a rigorous 20-day training program, learning self-defense techniques and gaining a deeper understanding of their role in protecting the nation.
Vice Admiral Adaci emphasized the critical importance of reservists in national security. “Your presence and readiness provide strength and confidence to our armed forces during disasters, conflicts, and crises,” he said.
Celebrity reservist Major Jose Sixto G. Dantes (Dingdong Dantes) shared his experience as a reservist since 2006. Senator Francis Tolentino and Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, both reservists, also extended their congratulations and expressed their belief in the graduates’ future contributions.
Senator Padilla praised the reservists’ transformation after their training. “We can see the positive impact this training has had on you,” he said. “We encourage you to use your new ranks as motivation to inspire young people to join the movement.”
Padilla urged the public to understand the significance of the reserve force and support its growth. He highlighted the need to promote the program in underrepresented areas to ensure a strong and diverse reserve force.
The senator expressed hope that the new reservists would ignite a passion for patriotism and inspire others to serve their country.
