Almost a year ago, comedian Ate Gay’s apology to host-comedian Vice Ganda made it to the headlines.
Ate Gay apologized to Vice Ganda for exposing the exact amount of monetary help he received from the It’s Showtime host. Vice extended financial assistance for Ate Gay’s hospitalization. The latter was confined in June last year due to toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Ate Gay’s public apology seemed to be a response to Vice Ganda’s statement while hosting the noontime show “It’s Showtime.” The unkabogable star was open about being hurt for being on the receiving end of bashing after his monetary help was publicized.
Vice said, “Tumulong na ako nang kusa, ayoko ko ngang magpa-acknowledge kaya hindi ko sinasabi. Pero ‘yung nilabas mo ‘yung pangalan ko, tapos inokray pa ako, nasaktan ako talaga.”
In the end, he added, “Kapag hindi ka tumulong, ang sama-sama mo. ‘Pag tumulong ka, kukuwestiyunin pa kung bakit ‘yun lang ang itinulong mo. That hurts so much.”
Now, netizens are rejoicing as it looks like all’s well between the well-loved comedians and friends. In an Instagram post last August 27, Ate Gay placed this caption below his photo with Vice: “Love love love.. ❤.”
