This year’s Christmas celebration is quite different as the world continues to battle a pandemic but for many of us, coming home to our families remains non-negotiable. In the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival, this reality among Filipino families is mirrored by one of the ten official entries — Maverick Films’ Coming Home.

A testament of true love that prevails in any situation, the story revolves around the lives of Benedicto “Benny” Librada (Jinggoy Estrada) and his family. Benny works in the Middle East, particulary in Qatar, in order to provide for his family in the Philippines. Subjected to temptation away from his loved ones, Benny develops feelings and falls for a kababayan, Mercy Dungca (Ariella Arida), who works as a nurse. Soon enough, Dungca becomes Benny’s reluctant mistress. Back in the Philippines, the Librada matriarch, Salve (Sylvia Sanchez) works hard to keep her family intact while keeping a personal struggle confidential.

What happens when Benny returns to bring his broken family back together? Will he still find his place in his wife’s and children’s lives? Let Jinggoy, Sylvia, Ariella, Edgar Allan Guzman, Martin Del Rosario, Shaira Diaz, and Jake Ejercito give life to their characters as part of the Librada family. The cast also includes Vin Abrenica, Jana Agoncillo, Julian Estrada, Smokey Manaloto, Samantha Lopez, Almira Muhlach, Luis Hontiveros, Alvin Anson, Chanel Morales, and Orlan Wamar.
