Travel has a way of shaping people — pushing them beyond their comfort zones and helping them see the world, and themselves, a little differently. For many, it’s a dream. For others, like Kapuso heartthrob Miguel Tanfelix, it’s a passion he actively pursues and shares with others.

Miguel has never shied away from expressing his love for travel and self-discovery. His solo journey across South America last year drew widespread admiration online, with thousands of netizens applauding his courage and independence. More than just a personal milestone, that trip inspired many of his followers to step out and explore the world for themselves.
Now, Miguel takes that passion to the next level as he embarks on his first solo hosting role in Planet XP. In this magazine-style infotainment special, he brings viewers along on immersive adventures and meaningful encounters with nature. From mountain climbing and windsurfing to engaging with indigenous communities, Miguel highlights not only thrilling experiences but also the rich and diverse beauty of the Philippines.
According to Miguel, this project is meaningful for him as an artist and a person. “Napatunayan ko rito na hindi sapat na pinapanood mo lang sa social media ‘yung adventures. Kailangan ma-experience mo firsthand ang pag-connect sa nature dahil marami kang matututunan,” he says.

He also highlights that Planet XP is more than just a show, “Bilang artista, kailangan piliin mong mabuti ang mga project at advocacy mo. For example, itong Planet XP, meron siyang campaign para sa iba’t ibang community sa Pilipinas at pino-promote nito ang pag-aalaga sa nature.”

Being the adrenaline junkie he is, Miguel goes all-out in hosting Planet XP, “Gusto ko talaga na maging involved sa ganitong uri ng trabaho. Na-e-enjoy kong ma-experience ‘yung mga adventure kasi mas natututo ako. Gaya nung outdoor activities na na-try ko rito, for me it’s a recharge. Kahit nakakapagod physically, masaya siya emotionally. May fulfillment.”
Just recently, Miguel also became part of GMA Entertainment Group’s Be Juan Tama campaign, together with Boy Abunda, Chris Tiu, and Dingdong Dantes. Through this advocacy, they encourage viewers to choose content that fosters mental, emotional, and social growth.

Indeed, these are testaments to Miguel’s conscious effort to become a role model to the youth. He reiterates, “There is a sense of responsibility. Mas maraming batang nakatingin sa iyo, mas marami kang gustong gawing tama sa mundo para ma-inspire sila na gumawa rin ng tama sa ibang tao at sa kalikasan.”
