The Philippines has never been short on talent, with promising artists emerging not only from Manila but also from communities and provinces across the country. Beyond the entertainment capital are performers with stories, influences, and dreams of their own, waiting for the chance to reach a wider audience. One South is one of those groups, bringing its music and Southern roots from Mindanao to Manila as it begins a new chapter in its career.

The five-member group recently held “Hiyaw Mula sa Timog: The Exclusive Media Showcase of One South” on September 8 at the Academy of Rock Quezon City, where members of the media, industry partners, content creators, and invited guests got a closer look at the rising act.
The showcase marked an important milestone for One South as the group officially introduced itself under its new management, Vibrant Voice Production & Talent Management Inc. With the company supporting their next chapter, the members are now pursuing opportunities to expand their audience and establish themselves in the Manila music scene.
One South is composed of Jeson Retirado Ramos, or One South Jace, who serves as leader, lead vocalist, and composer/arranger; Adrian Sorongon Sol, or One South Drey, the group’s lead dancer and lead vocalist; and Jhevin Jhone Paloma Malan, or One South Jhev, its visual and lead vocalist.
Rounding out the group are Marvincy Salazar Abayon, or One South Arvy, the main vocalist and belter, and Rover Kylle Plastico Casas, or One South Rover, the main rapper and main dancer.

During the showcase, One South performed its original songs “Galak” and “Hiyaw,” giving guests a taste of the music the group hopes to bring to a wider audience. They also performed their renditions of “Tulad Mo” by TJ Monterde and “Mapa” by SB19.
However, the event was about more than music. The members also opened up about the experiences behind their journey, including the sacrifices involved in leaving Mindanao and being away from their families and loved ones to pursue their ambitions in the music industry.
For One South, their journey is rooted in more than their individual talents. The group has become a space where its members can grow together, encourage one another, create music, and work toward both personal and collective goals.
Their ambitions extend beyond Manila. The members hope to perform on bigger stages and eventually bring their music to audiences outside the Philippines while remaining connected to the experiences and roots that shaped them.

Family, sacrifice, perseverance, friendship, and support are among the themes reflected in their story and music. These are also reminders of what it takes to pursue a dream, particularly when that dream requires leaving the familiarity of home.
With Vibrant Voice Production & Talent Management Inc. behind them, One South is now taking its next steps as it builds its identity in the local music industry. Their transition from Mindanao to Manila is not simply a change in location but part of a larger journey toward reaching more people through their music.
From the South to the capital, One South has made its Hiyaw heard and this is only the beginning.
