MMFF 2021 entry Nelia earns rave reviews for its strong plot
Rave reviews are in for the first full length film from A and Q Films Production, Inc. The Winwyn Marquez-starrer is proving to be popular among the viewers of the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The film is the only suspense thriller to enter the MMFF this year, and is currently being screened in theaters in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Nelia gets support from Filipino moviegoers
News reports claim that many Filipinos are still uncomfortable watching in cinemas but it is a surprise how many still lined up for Nelia, which is Rated R-13.
The film’s story revolves around the mystery behind the deaths of patients admitted to Room 009 of a hospital, and the story of the nurses and doctors working here. Aside from Winwyn Marquez, the film also stars Raymond Bagatsing, Mon Confiado, Ali Forbes, Shido Roxas, Juan Carlos Galano, and many more. The film also tackles the issue of mental health.
Winwyn Marquez’s performance as the titular Nurse Nelia Katigbak, who is suspected of having schizophrenia, a mental disorder where the patient experiences delusions and hallucinations, gained positive feedback. According to those who have seen the film, Nelia features scenes that would keep you at the edge of your seat and leave you wondering who or what is causing the death of the patients in Room 009.

In addition, audiences are also looking forward to some of the daring and sexy scenes of Ali Forbes and Shido Roxas, who play a big part in revealing the truth behind the mysteries in the film.
