Stepping Into Ambassadorship

The intimate launch held at Valle Verde Country Club on May 9, 2025, Friday, marked Mr. Fu’s formal introduction to his new role.
“I’ll be an ambassador of Stan Empire Lending Corporation at ng Stan Empire Entertainment. So, basically, as an ambassador, s’yempre kung may communication ‘yung SLC ‘tsaka si Stan Empire Entertainment, sa ‘kin ipapapublish, ipapost. Tapos, I’ll be attending ‘yung mga special events ng SLC tsaka ng Stan Empire Entertainment,” Mr. Fu shared during the event.

Mr. Fu with his long-time friend and now collaborator Belle Constantino (Co-founder and Co-owner of Stan Lending Corporation (SLC) and Stan Empire Entertainment)

His role, he explained, is purely representative. He clarified, “Hindi ako partner ‘tsaka wala akong kinalaman sa business. I’m not an industrial partner. I’m not a business partner. I’m plainly an ambassador.” He also emphasized that contracts are straightforward, although he admitted, “Matagal ko na kaibigan si Ms. Belle. S’yempre nahihiya ako sabihin na wait lang. S’yempre ‘pag binigay [ang contract], kaibigan mo, pipirmahan mo agad.”  Belle Constantino is the co-founder and co-owner of Stan Lending Corporation (SLC) and Stan Empire Entertainment.

But Mr. Fu made sure he reviewed the venture he was about to enter, adding, “Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Ms. Belle, sorry, alam mo naman!’ So binanggit ko ‘yung mga pangalan [ng celebrities]. Alam mo naman ako mag-joke ‘di ba? ‘Ayaw ni…’” Mr. Fu was referring to celebrity endorsers who made to news headlines when they later got entangled in legal problems their endorsed companies got involved in.

The Business of Lending and Family Roots

As part of the launch, Mr. Fu clarified that the business has investors, but it remains a family operation. “Meron, may investors pero it’s solely a family business. It’s a family owned business, buong Constantino family ang talagang may hawak nito,” he said. He detailed their approach to due diligence, “So, ang ginawa ko pinacheck ko muna sa lawyer. Nahiya ako sa kanya. Sabi ko, ‘Miss Belle, sorry kasi, wala lang, for my protection.’” Belle, his close associate and a key figure in the company, confirmed, “‘Yung license namin kasi by salary deduction ‘yung form of repayment so hindi talaga kami pwedeng mag-personal loan.”

She explained further, “SLC provides cash loan to all the employees but of accredited companies only. Meaning, we do our due diligence kung okay ba ‘yung standing ng company in terms of equity, in terms of stability. Titingnan muna namin siya. Kung nakikita namin na negative na siya sa equity, we will not push through with that. Example, ah, yung mga sa EPSA (Emergency Power Supply Agreement), sa PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority), ‘yung mga more on sa factory workers, ‘di kami pumapasok sa ganun.”

The business has been in existence for “Six years,” Belle said. “It was 2019 when we started, when we registered. So, ‘yung time na ’yun kaka-early retire ko lang sa bank.” She added, “By the way, galing pala akong bangko.”  Belle continued, “So, yung ginagawa ko sa bank, lumabas lang ako ng bangko and that’s what we did. So, from 2005 hanggang 2018 ‘yun ‘yung ginagawa ko. So I’ve learned all the ins and outs of salary loan. So, when I retired sa bank, nag-early retire kasi akong 2018 December. Sinabi sa akin ng husband ko na who’s based in Guam, mag-apply na lang ako ng work. Meron naman na sana sa Guam, sa bank din. So, sabi ko sabi nung anak ko, ‘Magba-bank ka na naman?’ Sabi niya, ‘Eh Ma, ganun din ‘yun. It’s the same thing. Uulit ka lang ulit sa 8:30 to 5:30.’ So sabi niya sa akin, ‘Why don’t we just do it on our own?’ So, it was actually the idea of my son, si Tim. So, siya yung co-founder ng SLC. It was his idea and ‘yung push niya sa akin kaya nabuo si SLC.”

Mr. Fu shared that Belle has worked for different banks, enriching her work experience. He laughingly said, “Alam mo, ang dami niyang bangkong pinuntahan! Nag-bank tour ‘yan kaya ang dami talaga niyang experience sa bangko!” Belle smilingly agreed, “I started kasi China Trust and then I went to Asia United Bank. I went to Planters Bank, China Bank Savings, PBCOM, and Citibank. So ang dami.”

On Their Clients

Belle shared insight into their client base, “In terms of industry we handle health care. Meron kaming retail. ‘Yun lang yung kaisa-isang retail ko na merong factory workers. Why? Maraming nagtanong. Akala ko ba ayaw mo factory workers? She’s been my client since 2005. So I know the owner personally. Kaya nung time na lumapit sila, pumayag ako kasi nga kilala ko ‘yung may-ari. So yun lang yung kaisa-isa. Meron kaming delivery services. Dalawa. Tapos meron kaming mga hospitals. So, so far, okay naman. Meron kaming shipping. Mm. So, we are still inviting more clients kasi meron kaming product na dinevelop ko when I was in the bank na ang tagal-tagal ma-approve hanggang sa nakapag-retire na ako. Pero that product ‘yun ‘yung parang selling like hotcakes namin kasi wala siyang interest – Instant Cash yung pangalan niya.”

It’s free of charge. Ang charge lang namin processing fee. Kaya kumbaga ‘yun yung foot on the door namin ‘pag sinabi namin ‘yun na meron kaming product na walang interest agad-agad. Bakit? Kasi ang dami naming kalaban ‘di ba. Loan din yan pero walang interest.”

She also shared how affordable their processing fee is, “The highest that we give sa processing fee is Php530. Para ka lang bumili ng Starbucks.”

Why Mr. Fu?

When asked why she tapped Mr. Fu as brand ambassador, Belle stated simply, “Because we share the same passion. We share the same we share the same [concern for] people. Parang we love helping other people. ‘Yun ang other side ni Mr. Fu.” She added, “Kasi most of the time when we talk, we talk about our families. We never talk about showbiz nga eh. Bihira.”

Mr. Fu also humorously added, “Kasi lagi naman siyang nanonood ng Marites University. Gabi-gabi!”  Belle chuckled, “Lagi akong nanghuhula [ng “blind items]. Ang hirap naman nung ano.” Sabi niya, “Ah, huwag ka na mangula. Tanungin mo na lang ako.”

Mr. Fu and Belle’s Friendship

Beyond business, their friendship remains rooted in shared values and interests. They’ve been gym mates for more than a decade, bonding over their concern for others and their love for family. Belle shared, “Because we share the same passion. We share the same we share the same [concern for] people.” Their camaraderie is evident when she adds, “Parang we love helping other people. ‘Yun ang other side ni Mr. Fu.”

Stan Empire Entertainment: A New Venture

Complementing his ambassador role, Mr. Fu is also the face of Stan Empire Entertainment, a company registered earlier this year. “‘Yung Stan Empire Entertainment naman, it was registered January lang of this year,” he said. The company has already secured bookings at key venues such as Estancia Capital Commons, Greenhills, and Tiendesitas.

“What kinds of events?” I asked. Mr. Fu responded, “Iba-iba. Meron sila halimbawa ‘yung meron silang for the whole of May mga mga club DJs, parang mag merong exhibition ng mga club DJs kasi parang ‘yung konsepto depende doon sa mall.” Stan Empire Entertainment will conceptualize and provide entertainment based on the mall’s needs for various occasions.

Dreams of Theater and Cultural Outreach

While Mr. Fu is actively involved in entertainment events, Belle’s passion lies in theater. “Pero ang dream talaga ni Ms. Belle, gusto niya talaga yung mga theater plays para sa mga eskwela,” he shared. In the past, their family produced a project titled Batas Militar as part of their advocacy to promote Filipino values and morals.

“Ang sarap nung feeling na lalapitan ka kunyari ng dean ng school na icocongratulate ka na ang daming natutunan. Kasi nagkakaroon ng impact sa students,” Belle added.

Why Not Movies?

When asked why they’re not focusing on movies, Belle explained, “Mas mahilig ako sa theater atsaka concert.” Mr. Fu echoed her sentiment, “‘Tsaka gusto niya sa theater daw parang meron siyang tema, ‘yung parang value system, ‘yung mga nakakalimutan mga pagmamano at paggamit ng po and opo.” Her preference for theater highlights her desire to produce projects that impart morals and reinforce societal values.

Dreams of Concerts and Supporting Filipino Talent

Belle shared her dreams of organizing concerts for Filipino icons. “S’yempre, Regine Velasquez,” she said with enthusiasm. She also revealed plans to bring Piolo Pascual to Guam and expressed her sister-in-law’s wish to have a theater production starring Jericho Rosales. Their collective aim is to create platforms that showcase Filipino talent, enriching both cultural pride and entertainment options.

A Friendship With Shared Values

At its core, the partnership between Mr. Fu and Belle is built on friendship, mutual respect, and shared concern for others. Their camaraderie exemplifies how personal bonds can underpin successful collaborations. They share a genuine passion for helping others, whether through financial services, cultural projects, or community outreach initiatives.

This kind of friendship that extends to business because it has been founded on trust and loyalty is something I personally “stan.” 😉
