Due to my busy schedule these days, my virtual friend (or many of my friends claim, alter ego) K*  and I hardly get to experience food trips together. Thanks to Wendy’s, K and I had a quick trip to Philadelphia, USA and Seoul, South Korea through our taste buds. What a nice surprise! We all know how big the Korean craze is in this country and it’s no surprise that this year, “Wendy’s  Goes Korean” to give us more of what we want. The brand joined in and launched new products to reinforce our love for things Korean.

*K is a foodie cartoon character I made in 2011 as I turned my cravings to drawings. 😉

Meet K, my virtual food buddy. Special thanks to Wendy’s for the shirt I’m wearing.

Yes, I’ve always been a fan of Korean culture – from entertainment, to leisure activities, to food.

LOOK above:

That’s my 2014 self with my friends and sister wearing our Jjimjilbang (Korean spa) head towels at the spa. K loved the Korean grilled egg and pat bing su (Korean halo-halo). — There’s the cake I baked and decorated in 2011 for my bestfriend which says 생일 축하 (saeng-il chugha), Happy Birthday in Korean. — The last photo is one of my many K drawings posted on my Instagram art account @sliceofk. I turned a Korean concept into an artwork.

Imagine my thrill when last May 17, in an intimate press event, we were made to try the newly launched Wendy’s Korean-inspired offerings —  the Kimchi Chicken Fillet and Kimchi Loaded Fries. Check out my meal.

KIMCHI CHICKEN FILLET: Meaty chicken fillet mixed with fresh slaw and rich and savory kimchi sauce  (This is the best part!)

KIMCHI LOADED FRIES: Wendy’s natural cut fries are covered in  a thick and delectable kimchi sauce and crispy bacon bits.

The tasting experience at the press event left me wanting for more. When the Korean selection was available in branches (starting May 19), I headed over to the nearest one. This time, I took K with me.

So thrilled to find  out that the set is available in Greenbelt 1 (Makati).
Easy choice.
Someone’s too excited she even wore her hanbok (tradiitonal Korean dress).

KamsamnidaMarie, of Wendy’s Greenbelt 1 branch for serving us with a smile!:)
