When I was invited to the premiere of Hollywood movie Locked, I was in for a thrilling experience. And I got it. “Locked” delivers a non-stop barrage of tension and terror. A mix of emotions surged in almost two hours of viewing. From the opening scene to the final confrontation, the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Just a word of warning, this movie is not for the faint of heart.

From producer Sam Raimi (“Evil Dead,” “Drag Me to Hell”) comes “Locked,” a powerful action-thriller set to hit theaters nationwide on April 2. This movie plunges viewers into a world of intense danger and a desperate struggle to stay alive.

A Thief’s Misfortune

“Locked” follows the ordeal of Eddie (Bill Skarsgård), a small-time thief caught in a terrible situation. Eddie believes he has struck gold when he breaks into a luxurious SUV. However, his initial excitement quickly turns to horror as he discovers that he has fallen into a carefully planned trap. William (Anthony Hopkins), a determined vigilante, has designed the car to be an inescapable prison, a key part of his twisted plan for punishment.

Trapped and Tormented

The SUV is equipped with devices to keep Eddie confined. William monitors his every move, turning the vehicle into a high-tech torture chamber. Eddie must use his intelligence and courage to find a way to escape and outwit his ruthless captor. The movie unfolds as a high-stakes, vicious battle, where survival is the only goal, and only one man can emerge victorious.

Powerhouse Performances

“Locked” features two exceptional actors, both known for their ability to portray complex and compelling characters. Skarsgård, famous for his terrifying portrayal of Pennywise in the “It” movies and his upcoming role in “Nosferatu,” once again demonstrates his talent for embodying intense and driven characters. As Eddie, he conveys a fierce determination to break free from his mobile prison.

He is matched by Hopkins, who delivers a chilling performance as William. Hopkins, an Academy Award, Emmy, and BAFTA winner, is celebrated for his iconic role as Hannibal Lecter in “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991). In “Locked,” he uses his considerable skill to create a character who is both terrifying and utterly compelling.

Direction and Vision

Director David Yarovesky, known for his unique storytelling style, directs “Locked.” After his success with the horror film “Brightburn” (2019) and the Netflix dark fantasy “Nightbooks” (2021), Yarovesky elevates his craft, combining psychological horror with explosive action.

Yarovesky stated, “Working with Bill and Anthony was a unique experience. They are two of the greatest actors, each known for bringing iconic villains to life. Their collaboration is truly special! I am very grateful to them and to Sam Raimi for their trust and collaboration.”

Prepare for a thrilling experience as Eddie fights for his life against a sadistic vigilante. “Locked” is NOW SHOWING in cinemas.
