PCSO promotes responsible gaming and finds new home for lotto draw in IBC-13 and D8TV

In a move that will further solidify the lottery’s place in Filipino culture, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is bringing its popular lottery draw to new screens across the country. Starting December 31, 2024, viewers can catch the excitement of the draw on both IBC-13 and D8TV. This partnership between PCSO, Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation, and Digital 8 TV aims to make the lottery even more accessible to Filipinos nationwide.

“PCSO has become the top or the leading charity agency in the Philippines. Its vision is simple yet meaningful, to provide high quality of life to many Filipinos through sustainable funds from Responsible Gaming. At the press conference in Makati on December 18, 2024, PCSO Assistant General Manager Atty. Lauro Patiag, IBC-13 President and CEO Jimmie Policarpio, and Digital 8 Inc. (D8TV) President Jay Ruiz were present.
Policarpio explained that a public bidding was held and IBC-13 was able to meet and comply with the stringent requirements to obtain the partnership. Ruiz explained how D8TV for its part will provide the necessary tools and equipment for the production of the raffle draws. He also added that their team will make the presentation more informative for the viewing public.
On Responsible Gaming
When asked by Random Republika, Atty. Patiag emphasized PCSO’s commitment to responsible gaming. He stated, “Meron tayong tinatawag na World Lottery Association. And PCSO is a member. So we are complying and adhering to the practices. Good practices of lottery gaming providers and operators all over the world. Responsible gaming is one of those requirements.”
Patiag proudly shared, “I’m happy to announce that PCSO has attained the Level 2 certification for responsible gaming.” He explained the significance of this achievement, saying, “Because responsible gaming deals exactly with the role of PCSO as a gaming operator. To protect the public. The youth who are enticed to gamble. And also to have that role of limiting excessive gambling.” He further added, “So there will be reminders to the public. So, that’s part of the responsible gaming. We can contribute also to the protection of our morality issue. We are policing our own.” The PCSO Assistant General Manager continued to explain how the office is targeting Level 3 accreditation next.

The PCSO Lottery Draw will showcase all the beloved lotto games, including Ultra Lotto 6/58, Grand Lotto 6/55, Super Lotto 6/49, Mega Lotto 6/45, and Lotto 6/42. The daily draws for 6D, 4D, 3D, and 2D Lotto will also be featured, with live broadcasts at 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 9:00 PM, Monday through Sunday.
For the first time in the history of televised lotto draws in the Philippines, viewers can tune in to both analog and digital IBC-13, D8TV, and IBC DWAN 1206 AM channels. Livestreams will also be available on the official websites, Facebook pages, and YouTube channels of PCSO, IBC-13, and DWAN 1206, ensuring that Filipinos can follow their favorite games from anywhere with an internet connection.
IBC-13’s Growing Digital Network
IBC-13 brings to this partnership a rapidly expanding digital network. With new Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT) transmitters recently launched in Baguio and Davao, the network’s reach now extends across Northern Luzon and Southeastern Mindanao. These new additions join existing DTT stations in Iloilo and Cebu, further solidifying IBC-13’s presence in the Visayas region.
