We are one with the nation in praying for Mary Jane Veloso, 30, who is set to be executed in Indonesia today over drug smuggling charges.
Mary Jane pleaded not guilty in front of the Indonesian tribunal and argued she was just framed up.
We were deeply moved when we read Rappler’s article (The Story of Mary Jane Veloso, in Her Own Words) which details how she was allegedly framed up by someone she and her family personally know back in her little town. All she wanted was to obtain a domestic helper posting abroad to help her family, but in the end, this whole unfortunate story sadly came into play.
She is scheduled to be executed today, April 28, 2015, at around 6 p.m. (Philippine time) together with eight other drug trafficking convicts on death row.
