The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival is back and bigger than ever, with a launch event held on July 23 at the Gateway Cineplex 18. Building on the success of its inaugural year, the festival aims to provide even more opportunities for Filipino filmmakers to showcase their talent and creativity.
Puregold held the introductory press conference for the second Puregold CinePanalo at the Gateway Cineplex 18 due to the anticipation.
Puregold has increased the funding pool for this year’s festival, offering seven full-length film directors a production grant of PHP3,000,000 each, and 25 student short film directors a grant of PHP150,000 each. The festival seeks to highlight “panalo stories” that uplift and inspire, showcasing the indomitable spirit of the Filipino people.
The launch event featured several directors from last year’s festival, including Always Panalo Film awardee Carlo Obispo. Best Picture winner Kurt Soberano sent a special video message to encourage filmmakers to submit their stories. Five student directors also shared their experiences, highlighting the opportunities the festival provides for young, aspiring filmmakers.
