The year is shaping up to be really good for one of Viva’s fast-rising young stars, Rabin Angeles.

From the moment he starred as the red-haired JaPinoy, Yuri Hanamichi, in Viva One’s adaptation of “Ang Mutya ng Section E” in January, more and more viewers have become enamored with him. And it’s not just because of his looks, but more importantly, because of his heartfelt and outstanding performance, which earned him the Best TV Actor award at the Laurus Nobilis Media Excellence Awards organized by Lyceum of the Philippines-Cavite in April.
Talented, hardworking, and grounded, Rabin has proven himself worthy of being entrusted with several new projects, including endorsing the South Korean skincare brand The Lab by Blanc Doux, and launching his own fragrance line called Bin Perfume, developed in collaboration with Viva Beauty last April. And coming soon is the TV adaptation of another well-loved Wattpad novel, “Mission Impossible: Seducing Drake Palma” by Beeyotch.

The novel has amassed 79.5 million reads on Wattpad to date. Its author, Ariesa Jane Domingo, has 17 years of writing experience and specializes in romance and legal romance genres. Prior to Seducing Drake Palma, she wrote “For Hire: A Damn Good Kisser.” Some of her published books under Pop Fiction include: “Dating Alys Perez” (a follow-up to Seducing Drake Palma), “A Latte Like Love”, “Good Girl Gone Bad”, “How to Break Up with the Bad Boy”, and more. She also authored Indie Pop books, including the Just Trilogy (a boxed set) composed of “Just The Benefits”, “Just the Strings”, and “Just This Once.” She explains that her username, Beeyotch, means “beyond bitch.”
With Rabin’s growing number of fans and Beeyotch’s millions of readers, it is fitting that the “Seducing Drake Palma” series be directed by an award-winning director, Crisanto Aquino (winner of the 2024 MMFF and MIFF Best Director awards for “My Future You”, the 2019 MMFF Special Jury Prize, and the 2020 Osaka Film Festival ABC Award for “Write About Love”). Fans of the book can rest assured that their beloved characters are in good hands.

Rabin will play Drake, a smart but aloof young man from a wealthy family. He’s the type who can sleep through class yet still achieve perfect scores on exams. Girls are all over him, but he doesn’t take any of them seriously.
But then, along comes Alys — a girl with excellent humor and a never-say-die attitude. If she wants something done, there’s no stopping her. Unfortunately for Drake, she has made him her mission.
It will be exciting to see how Rabin Angeles interprets this role — from Wattpad story to Viva One. Stay tuned for “Mission Impossible: Seducing Drake Palma.”
