The CHOCO YEMA Cupcakes
I first learned about SLICE from social media. Aside from it being a project of Sen. Pia Cayetano, what really piqued my interest was the choco yema cupcake that has been getting a lot of raves on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I’m so happy to share that I finally got to try it firsthand.
SUGAR RUSH

I was literally in a rush so I just dropped by the branch  and randomly chose treats –
1) chocolate chip deep dish cookie (chewy cookie in disguise) 2) choco monkey PB (yummy 3-in-1 combo of chocolate, banana, and peanut butter) 3) pineapple carrot surprise (creamy surprise inside!) 4) rocky road s’mores and 5) choco yema cupcake

I loved everything I took home but the choco yema cupcake was undoubtedly the best from the bunch. Never mind that the yema isn’t exactly the typical eggyolk-and-milk concoction (like the one in brazo de mercedes) I expected it to be because Slice’s version definitely lived up to the hype. Their kind of yema (the caramel/dulce de leche type) perfectly combined with the super moist chocolate cupcake base.

I have yet to try other popular flavors like the red velvet, nuts about bananas, citrus burst, and choco madness but the yummy ones I have tried are enough reasons for a return visit. 🙂
SLICE is located at
Bonifacio High Street Central (beside Jamba Juice)
Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila

Must-try list for my next visit:
Slice’s take on the champorado (I see almonds and muesli!),
classic granola, and double choco yema cake (hope it’s double the goodness of the regular one!)

Check out how moist the base is 🙂
