Most people may not immediately recognize the name Emma Joson, but she is a familiar face within her own family’s story. She is the mother of filmmaker and actress Emille Joson, and over the years, she has watched her children build careers, relationships, and businesses while keeping much of their family life away from public attention. Emma spoke fondly of her daughter Dee Joson’s humanitarian work, much of which is deliberately kept away from public attention. She explained that the family does not necessarily believe every act of charity needs to become a public story.
Projects funded directly by the family-owned cooperative are different. Those activities and donations are documented online as part of the cooperative’s transparency requirements.
