The popular onscreen tandem of real-life couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles, affectionately known as KimJe by their fans, is set to return to cinemas this April in the movie “Un-Ex You.” This marks another chapter in their on-screen collaborations, following a string of successful projects that have showcased their comedic timing and heartfelt performances. From navigating romantic possibilities to surviving zombie encounters, their chemistry has consistently entertained audiences.

A Race Against Time for Zuri
In “Un-Ex You,” Molina plays Zuri, a driven 35-year-old businesswoman who owns a logistics company. Zuri’s upbringing as a foster child instilled in her a strong sense of independence. Her closest connections are with her relative Bry (Kyosu Guinto), her best friend Greg (Bob Jbeili), and her loyal employees. Now, Zuri faces an unexpected challenge: a diagnosis of premature menopause.

This news throws her meticulously planned life into disarray, forcing her to confront the reality that her window for having children is rapidly closing. Having prioritized her career over romance, Zuri embarks on a frantic search for a suitable partner to start a family with. After exhausting other options, she arrives at a surprising last resort: her ex-boyfriend, Andy.
An Unexpected Second Chance
Andy, portrayed by Napoles, lives a simple life in the remote sitio of Halúpi. He embodies the values of his community: a relaxed pace, contentment, and a strong sense of community. Orphaned at a young age, Andy was raised by his aunt and cousin. He once ventured abroad for work, but an accident resulted in permanent memory loss, leading to his return to Halúpi. As fate would have it, Andy is still single. Intriguingly, Zuri, a woman he doesn’t remember, has been appearing in his dreams. Now that Zuri is in Halúpi, she faces the daunting task of making Andy fall in love with her all over again, while keeping their shared history a secret.
Complications and Comedy
Zuri’s efforts to reconnect with Andy are further complicated by the watchful presence of his aunt, Mameng (played by Candy Pangilinan), and the subtle resistance from his cousin, Beybeh (Vladia Disuanco). As Zuri navigates the delicate process of building a new relationship with Andy, the question looms: will she risk revealing their past in her pursuit of a future with him?
“Un-Ex You” promises a blend of humor and heart, exploring themes of second chances and the complexities of love and family. Directed by RC Delos Reyes and also featuring Marnie Lapus as Doc Josie, “Un-Ex You” opens in cinemas nationwide on April 9, 2025.
