For Robbie Jaworski, being born into a prominent political family does not mean following the same path. The Star Magic artist is choosing to build his own identity in entertainment, using acting, hosting, and youth-oriented projects as platforms to connect with audiences and encourage conversations on issues that matter.
During the Star Magic Spotlight Press Conference, Jaworski opened up about his decision to pursue a career in showbiz and the kind of impact he hopes to make outside politics.
“Gusto ko maging isang halimbawa na hindi mo kailangan pumasok ng pulitika para gumawa ng diperensya sa Pilipinas,” he said.
That mindset is reflected in his work on Y-Speak 2.0, a youth-focused program that discusses politics, culture, the economy, media literacy, and other issues affecting young Filipinos. More than simply presenting information, the program encourages its audience to question what they see and hear, particularly on social media.
“Ang tema ng Y-Speak 2.0 is to listen, discern, and act. So huwag lang tayo basta-basta makinig at maniwala sa mga napapanood at nakikita natin sa social media,” Jaworski said.
For the young actor, entertainment is also an avenue for personal growth. After appearing in The Alibi and Meet, Greet, Bye, he has taken on another role in Prime Video’s The Loyalty Game, continuing to expand his experience in front of the camera.
And he is far from done.
“Sa tingin ko, gutom na gutom ako in terms of acting projects na I just want to experience more,” Jaworski shared.
Among the roles he would particularly like to try is an action character. He said he dreams of training in martial arts and eventually taking on roles that would allow him to perform more physically demanding scenes.
His experience as a host, meanwhile, has taught him a different kind of discipline. Unlike taped productions, live hosting leaves little room for mistakes.
“Sa hosting… kapag live ’yan, isang take lang ’yan. Kung nagkamali ka, wala, sa’yo ’yan.”
Jaworski is also getting the chance to explore a more dramatic side of his acting in The Loyalty Game, where he plays Juancho Madrigal.
He describes Juancho as the “boy version ng Cinderella”—a character who belongs to the family’s second household but still grows up shouldering considerable hardship.
As he continues developing his craft, Jaworski said he is grateful for the actors and creatives who have helped shape his growth. Among those he considers influential are John Arcilla, Paulo Avelino, Sam Milby, Jojo Saguin, Onat Diaz, Cathy Garcia-Sampana, and May Cruz-Alviar.
Their guidance, he said, has given him a better appreciation of acting and helped him understand what it takes to grow as a performer.
But Jaworski’s next challenge will not be on a television or streaming screen.
He is set to join the Star Magic All-Star Games as a player, returning to an event he previously hosted. After experiencing the games from the sidelines and as a host last year, he is now ready to compete.
With acting, hosting, advocacy, and sports all forming part of his growing career, Jaworski appears to be building a showbiz journey that is distinctly his own—one that goes beyond his family name.
